  • Patent number: 11256499
Abstract: Example implementations relate to method and system for storing and applying updates to a firmware at runtime of a processor-based system. The processor-based system includes a system management (SM) memory, a platform hardware, a main processor, the firmware, and a hotfix-framework. The hotfix-framework includes a hotfix dispatcher module and a service driver module having one or more boot time resources. The firmware and the hotfix-framework are pre-executed in the SM memory. The platform hardware stores a hotfix-firmware including updates to the firmware into a memory of the processor-based system, and generates an interrupt to direct the main processor into an SM mode and get the hotfix-framework notification about the hotfix-firmware. The hotfix dispatcher module loads the hotfix-firmware from the memory into the SM memory, and executes the hotfix-firmware by utilizing the one or more boot time resources to apply the updates to the firmware at runtime of the processor-based system.

  • Patent number: 11258814
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for utilizing natural language process (NLP), namely semantic learning approaches, in the realm of network security. Techniques include analyzing network transaction records to form a crafted corpus related to a semantics of network activity. The crafted corpus can be adapted to include sequences of network entities that are deemed most appropriate for analyzing a particular category related to network activity. For example, crafted corpuses can include sequences of servers accessed by each user, in order to identify activity trends in a user's normal activity. A network embeddings model can be trained on the crafted corpus. The network embeddings model includes an embedding space of text that represents interactions between network entities and captures contextual similarities of text, which further measures similarities between the network entities in the embedding space.

  • Patent number: 11256694
Abstract: An input is accessed representing a tuning parameter for a first query statement and a tolerance level. The tolerance level represents a degree of acceptable discrepancy between the first query statement and another query statement. A first fingerprint is generated for the first query statement based on a content of the first query statement and the tolerance level; and the first fingerprint and the tuning parameter are stored. The first fingerprint is used as an index for an optimizer to associate the tuning parameter with a second query statement that corresponds to the first fingerprint.

  • Patent number: 11249979
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems and methods for performing network device configuration validation online. A second instance of the command process (a shadow interpreter) can be run within a isolated validation environment on a network device that is active on a network. A copy of the configuration database on the network device is associated with the isolated validation environment. The validation handler erases the currently running configuration commands within the validation copy of the configuration database, and enters each new configuration command through the shadow interpreter to validate the new configuration commands on the network device without impacting the current functioning of the network device. After all the new configuration commands are entered, the validation report generates a report identifying the validation status for each command.

  • Patent number: 11252064
Abstract: One embodiment can provide a method and system for monitoring network traffic. During operation, the system may receive a request to monitor packets ingressing or egressing a device. The request can indicate a set of parameters for monitoring the packets. In response to receiving the request, the system may configure a network switch coupled to the device to replicate the packets ingressing or egressing the device. The system can then encapsulate the replicated packets, based on the set of parameters, with a destination address associated with the request, thereby allowing the packets to be analyzed remotely.

  • Patent number: 11251603
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing thermal protection to a power backplane printed circuit board. A distributed hotspot detection grid is included in the printed circuit board, the distributed hotspot detection grid comprising a plurality of passive temperature sensors spread across the printed circuit board to measure temperature increases. The plurality of passive temperature sensors are connected to a detection circuit for comparing signals from the passive temperature sensors to a reference signal. If the temperature increases on the PCB, electrical characteristics of at least one passive temperature sensor will change, resulting in a change of the input signal to the detection circuit. When the threshold is exceeded (indicating a potential short circuit or hotspot), the detection circuit outputs a shut down signal to the one or more power supplies connected to the of the backplane printed circuit board, to avoid catastrophic damage to the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 11252258
Abstract: An example consistent with this disclosure includes a controller that is communicatively coupled to dataflow devices in a network. The controller receives device information from a dataflow device and determines features supported by the dataflow device based, in part, on the device information received from the dataflow device. Using a driver configured to use the features supported by the dataflow device, the controller transmits a command to the dataflow device. The controller then receives a response to the command from the dataflow device. The response to the command may include information that indicates different features are supported by the dataflow device than previously determined. The controller updates its determination of the features supported by the dataflow device and updates the driver used to transmit the command to the dataflow device.
