  • Patent number: 7159107
Abstract: A booting method capable of executing a warm boot or a cold boot when a CPU crash occurs in a computer system having a CPU and a memory. First, when the CPU is in a crash state, it is detected that a user wants to execute a hardware reset function or a software reset function. Next, a hardware reset operation is executed to reboot the CPU. Then, when the user chooses to execute the hardware reset function, data and predefined values of the memory are deleted to make the computer system return to a default state. Thereafter, when the user chooses to execute the software reset function, the hardware reset operation is regarded as an operation to replace a software reset operation, and the computer system holds the data and predefined values to make the computer system return to a setting state before the computer system is crashed.

  • Patent number: 7133918
Abstract: A method for an HTML document to access local system resources, which receives an HTTP request and judges whether the HTTP request includes a predetermined keyword. A system-resource-accessing portion of the HTTP request is processed when the HTTP request includes the predetermined keyword. Then, the HTTP request is checked whether it contains a Referer field. If the header of the HTTP request includes the Referer field, the HTTP request will be treated as an external request, and the local system resource accessing will be denied even when the HTTP request includes the predetermined keyword.

  • Patent number: 7057561
Abstract: A multi-frequency antenna includes a antenna body, a patch antenna, and a ground plane. The antenna body has first and second radiation arms, a feed-in terminal, and a ground terminal disposed in one side of the antenna body for signal feeding, and grounding. The first and second radiation arms are arranged in a symmetrically inward spiral structure. Two current paths with different lengths are created, along with the two radiation arms from the feed-in terminal, and thereby the antenna is operable at two frequencies. An additional patch antenna can be disposed beside the antenna body to allow the antenna to have more operational frequencies. In practice, the length of the patch antenna can be designed according to the bandwidth of Bluetooth signals to meet the requirement of Bluetooth communication. The ground plane is disposed beneath the antenna body and the patch antenna for the purpose of grounding of the antenna's signals.

  • Patent number: 7023430
Abstract: An electronic device has a cavity in which a stylus can be slidably inserted. The stylus has a retaining slot thereon. Being inserted in the cavity, the stylus firstly pushes a retainer to be moved resiliently. The stylus further presses on a stylus-releasing device that terminates the cavity, thereby engaging the stylus-releasing device in a stable configuration with a resilient force. Meanwhile the retainer inserts into the retaining slot of the stylus to hold and immobilize the stylus in the cavity. To extract the stylus, a short pressing action is exerted on the stylus, which disengages the stylus-releasing device from the stable configuration, thereby the stylus-releasing device exerts a resilient force on the stylus that is ejected partially out of the cavity to facilitate a grasp of the stylus.

  • Patent number: 7014486
Abstract: A recoverable connector structure and a cradle having the same are provided. The cradle includes a base plate, a fixed stand, a recoverable assembly having a bolt and an elastic body, a support body, a shielding plate, a circuit board, a second connector and a case. An electronic device couples with the second connector of the cradle through a first connector of the electronic device. When the electronic device is pulled from the second connector of the cradle, the recoverable assembly allows the second connector and the circuit board to rotate in a certain angle. As the electronic device is separated from the cradle, the second connector can return to its initial position. This design not only makes the process of pulling up the electronic device smooth, but also avoids the second connector from fatigued damage to extend the cradle's life.
