Abstract: Provided are gas dispersion portion 7C covering entry end face of selective reduction catalyst 4 (aftertreatment device) and introducing exhaust gas 1 through exhaust feed port 11 from direction substantially perpendicular to axis of aftertreatment device and mixing pipe 7B (exhaust conduit) curved from exhaust feed port 11 in the gas dispersion portion 7C toward exit side of the selective reduction catalyst 4 to extend axially of aftertreatment device. Gas dispersion portion 7C is of crushingly deformed shape to ensure area from exhaust feed port 11 to vicinity of extension of axis of the selective reduction catalyst 4 as fan-likely spreading flow guide space 12, remaining area being flat throttling space 13 close to entry end face of selective reduction catalyst 4. Boundary between throttling and flow guide spaces 13 and 12 in crushing deformed shape is formed as arc-like taper slope 14.

Abstract: Arranged downstream of a particulate matter filter incorporated in an exhaust pipe is a PM sensor with a detection portion on which particulate matter is deposited to output a deposition amount of the particulate matter. An assumption condition is set for making an assumption that the particulate matter filter is in a reference condition having a predetermined particulate matter capturing capability. Under the assumption condition, a virtual output value is calculated depending on a virtual deposition amount of the particulate matter in the PM sensor. The particulate matter filter is determined to have fault when, upon reaching of the virtual output value to a predetermined determination threshold, an output of the PM sensor is not less than the determination threshold.
Abstract: Disclosed is a mixing structure for spraying and mixing urea water (additive agent) into and with exhaust gas 1 flowing through a communication passage 7 (exhaust flow passage). The mixing structure is provided with a curved portion 11 in the communication passage 7 downstream of a sprayed position of the urea water as well as a depression 12 on an exit side of the curved portion 11 and formed on only one of sides of the curved portion 11 bisected by a plane into plane symmetry.
Abstract: A heat exchanger tube is constituted by a flat tube body 14 shaped like a plurality of cylindrical tubes arranged mutually proximally in a plane and connected together at mutually proximate portions of the tubes as communicating portions 13. Cylindrical portions 15 corresponding to the cylindrical tubes of the flat tube body 14 have inner peripheries formed with swirling-flow-forming protrusions 16 directed along spiral trajectories coaxial with central axes O of the cylindrical portions 15 so that the respective cylindrical portions 15 may have individual swirling flows of the exhaust gas 10.
Abstract: A cooling system includes a cooling device and an electronic control device for controlling the cooling device. The cooling device has a rotating component for delivering cooling medium and a drive source for controlling the rotating component. The electronic control device stores diagnosis reference information, which indicates an actual rotation speed acceptable range when an actual rotation speed of the drive source is apart from an instructed rotation speed of the drive source. The actual rotation speed acceptable range is an acceptable range of the actual rotation speed. The acceptable range changes according to the instructed rotation speed and a voltage value applied to the drive source. The electronic control device obtains the acceptable range based on the diagnosis reference information to determine whether the cooling device is in a normal state.
Abstract: This thermostat abnormality determining device includes a cooling water temperature sensor, an estimated temperature calculating unit and a determining unit. The cooling water temperature sensor detects the temperature of cooling water that cools an engine. The estimated temperature calculating unit calculates an estimated temperature, which is an estimated value of the temperature of the cooling water. The determining unit determines if the thermostat has become stuck open after warming-up of the engine is complete.
Abstract: Provided is an articulated bus including a front vehicle including a steering wheel and a rear wheel positioned on a rear side of the steering wheel in a front-rear direction of a vehicle, a rear vehicle disposed on a rear side of the front vehicle in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and mounted with an engine, an articulating portion that swingably connects the front vehicle and the rear vehicle to each other, and a hybrid system including an electric generator that functions as an electric motor and a generator, and an HV battery that stores electric energy generated by the electric generator and supplies electric energy to the electric generator, in which the HV battery is disposed on a roof of the front vehicle.
Abstract: The burner includes a first tube portion having a tube end including an ejection port and a second tube portion extending toward the ejection port in the first tube portion. The combustion gas generated by combusting air-fuel mixture is ejected from the ejection port. The second tube portion includes a heat exchanging portion that vaporizes liquid fuel with combustion heat of the combustion chamber and supplies the vaporized fuel to the premixing chamber. The outer surface of the second tube portion functions as a heat receiving surface of the heat exchanging portion. A fuel supply section of the burner is configured to vaporize liquid fuel and supply the vaporized fuel to the premixing chamber, and supply liquid fuel to the heat exchanging portion.
Abstract: Disclosed is a water ingress preventive structure for a tailpipe which discharges exhaust gas outside of a vehicle at a terminal of an exhaust passage system. A curved shape is imparted to the tailpipe. A partition is mounted on an inner periphery of a curved portion outward of a curved direction so as to be gradually spaced apart from the inner periphery toward downstream in a direction of flow of the exhaust gas. Thus, a dead end portion is defined by the partition and the inner periphery of the curved portion outward of the curved direction.
