  • Patent number: 10054074
Abstract: An estimation unit calculates an estimated value of oxygen concentration in an exhaust passage on the basis of a target injection amount of a fuel injection valve and an air intake amount of an engine. A first determination unit determines the relationship of a detected value to the estimated value of the oxygen concentration, in both a fuel-injecting state and a non-fuel-injecting state. For each of a plurality of cylinders, a second determination unit acquires crankshaft angular acceleration during the expansion strokes of the cylinders in the fuel-injecting state, and determines the relationship of each angular acceleration to the average value of all of the angular accelerations. An abnormality determination unit determines whether or not there is an abnormality in an engine system on the basis of the determination results of the first and second determination units.

  • Patent number: 10054028
Abstract: Provided is a method for detecting abnormality of an after turbo catalyst (ATC) where fuel from a fuel injection device receiving a post injection command from a controller undergoes oxidation reaction in an exhaust pipe and resultant reaction heat heats the exhaust gas, which provides an ATC-entry-side temperature measuring means measuring a temperature on an entry side of ATC to transmit a measured value to the controller and an ATC-downstream-side temperature measuring means measuring a temperature downstream of ATC. The controller, which transmitted the post injection command, determines whether a fuel injection device normally operates if temperature downstream of ATC is not nonelevated to that on the entry side of ATC, and determines that ATC has abnormality if the fuel injection device normally operates.

  • Patent number: 9810677
Abstract: A concentration detecting section detects a concentration of urea water and outputs the detected value. A determining section determines whether the urea water is suitable by using the detected value. A temperature detecting section detects temperatures of detection targets. The detection targets have temperatures that are different from one another during operation of an engine. The determining section is adapted to calculate a temperature difference between temperatures of a particular detection target and another detection target and start determining whether the urea water is suitable when a determination start condition including that the temperature difference is within a reference range is satisfied. The reference range is defined as a range of temperature differences in which it is determined that the urea water is in a quiescent state, which is suitable for the determination.

  • Patent number: 9804059
Abstract: Based on entry/exit pressures of a compressor detected by atmospheric/boost pressure sensors, a pressure ratio of compressor is calculated. Based on mass flow rate and entry temperature of intake air detected by intake air flow-rate/temperature sensors and entry pressure, a volumetric flow rate of intake air is calculated in environmental condition at a detection time using gas state equation, and is corrected into a volumetric flow rate under standard environmental condition thorough multiplication by a corrective coefficient based on entry temperature of intake air. Based on the corrected value and the calculated pressure ratio, a rotational frequency of compressor under standard environmental condition is read out in light of operating characteristic diagram for the compressor.
