Patent number: 4484608Abstract: A device for support of a portable router above a work table so as to convert a portable router into a pin router assembly. The device includes a mounting plate which is directly attached to the base portion of the router. The mounting plate is formed integral with a support carriage assembly that is mounted in a housing assembly to permit the router to be smoothly and accurately positioned above the work table in preselected positions. A guide pin is carried in a block assembly that is received in the work table in a manner which permits the adjustment of the guide pin into alignment with the router chuck.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1982Date of Patent: November 27, 1984Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J. Patent number: 4466675Abstract: A knock-down drawer assembly is provided with a front panel, a pair of side panels, a rear panel, and a bottom panel. The front, rear, and side panels are provided with channels for receiving the bottom panel. The front panel defines two generally vertical and parallel dovetail mortises on the inner face of the front panel. The opposing sides of each mortise taper inwardly at a constant angle along the vertical length of the mortise. Each of the side panels has a dovetail tenon on one end of the panel. The sides of each tenon taper inwardly along the vertical length of the tenon and each tenon is adapted to be received in a mortise of the front panel. A shoulder is provided on the rear end of each side panel for locating the rear panel along the length of the side panel relative to the front panel. Fastening means are provided for securing the side panels to the rear panel.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1982Date of Patent: August 21, 1984Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J. Patent number: 4463644Abstract: Two rails, each having a straight edge, two ends and a cross section defining a channel, are placed in an end-to-end butting relationship to form a continuous straight edge. A joiner plate has an arcuate cross section and has lateral margins for being received in the rail channels. The plate is placed in the rail channels and is fastened to the rails so as to deflect the plate downwardly and force the lateral margins of the plate tight against the rails to align the rails and hold the rails together.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1983Date of Patent: August 7, 1984Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J. Patent number: 4413374Abstract: A two-piece knob assembly is provided for positively holding a fastener in a non-rotatable condition. The assembly includes a knob that has an aperture with varying diameters and configurations. A fastener is received in the aperture and is non-rotatably held therein due to the mating irregular configurations of the knob and the fastener. A cap is also received in the aperture to prevent the fastener from becoming dislodged in a vertical direction.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 1981Date of Patent: November 8, 1983Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J. Patent number: 4384746Abstract: An assembly for slidably and releasably mounting a drawer in a support frame is provided wherein the drawer has at least one guide member and is slidably engaged with at least one track member carrier by the support frame. The drawer guide member includes an outwardly projecting and forwardly facing stop means and the track member is provided with a resilient clip mounted on the forward end of the track member movable between a first position for engaging the drawer stop means whereby unintentional withdrawal of the drawer from the support frame is prevented and a second position whereby the clip is out of alignment with the stop means to permit removal of the drawer.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1981Date of Patent: May 24, 1983Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J. Patent number: 4328728Abstract: A saw support member for supporting a portable power circular saw is pivotably mounted to a platform defining a workpiece support surface. A pair of fences are pivotally connected on a fixed vertical axis to the platform. First and second arcuate guide slots are defined within the platform in arcs concentric about the fence pivot vertical axis. Each fence has spaced apart first and second guide members projecting therefrom into the first and second associated guide slots, respectively, for guiding the movement of the associated fence at spaced locations along its length. Means are provided for releasably restraining each fence from pivotable movement relative to the platform.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1980Date of Patent: May 11, 1982Assignee: Hirsh CompanyInventors: Irwin J.
