Patents Assigned to Hirsh Company
  • Patent number: 4233912
Abstract: A shelf standard is provided with one backwall and two sidewalls. The sidewalls have cut-out portions which receive shelving. The backwall has a center section panel which extends from the backwall a distance greater than the distance from the backwall to the sidewall edge defining the cut-out portion and acts to keep the shelving edge free from contact with the sidewall edge when the shelving is being located in position.

  • Patent number: 4197775
Abstract: An improved, safer, more efficient saw table construction is provided in the present invention by channelled guide tracks which slidably support a tool and plate assembly in any one of two positions at right angles to each other. The tool can be readily moved from one position to another, without remounting the tool on the tool plate, by controllable withdrawal of the tool plate from the ends of the guide tracks, rotation of the entire tool and plate assembly, and reinsertion of the plate into the channelled tracks provided.

  • Patent number: 4165698
Abstract: A novel attachment device is provided which can be used to secure two members together, such as a shelf and a support column, with a screw and nut and which does not require the use of a wrench to keep the nut from rotating during tightening of the screw with a screwdriver. A sheet metal shelf has a depending flange with a hole in a deformable region of sheet metal between two parallel vertical slots near the corner of the shelf. A shelf support column has a vertical U-shaped channel with a hole therein. To connect a shelf to a support column, the deformable region of the shelf flange is placed across the opening of the U-shaped channel in the support column with the holes in the flange and support column in alignment and then a screw is inserted therethrough. A nut is threadingly engaged on the screw to bear against one side of the deformable region of the shelf flange and to deform the region into the U-shaped channel of the support column.

  • Patent number: 4126366
Abstract: Covered bins and a rotatable assembly for holding a plurality of them in a cantilevered array is provided wherein the bins may be easily removed and added as necessary. A bin support column having an exterior shape of a regular prism is mounted for rotation on a base. Each face of the support column has an array of vertically spaced pairs of prongs. Each pair of prongs engages and releasably secures a bin to the face of the column. Each bin has a bottom wall, two side walls, a forward wall, and a rearward wall. Each bin is mounted to the support column with its rearward wall adjacent a face of the column by means of two slots which receive the pair of prongs projecting from the face of the support column. Preferably, each bin has a cover which is hinged to open and close over the top of the bin and which is slidably engaged with the side walls of the bin to allow complete removal therefrom.
