  • Patent number: 7545777
Abstract: In CDMA communications, a base station detects a difference between a reference phase of a spreading code and a phase of a received signal of each terminal station, and feeds a phase jump signal PJ-i representative of the phase difference back to each terminal station. After timing acquisition, the reception operation is performed using the reference phase, and a shift amount between the phase of a received signal and the reference phase is fed back to each terminal station as phase synchronization control information PC-i. Each terminal station coarsely adjusts the phase of the spreading code in accordance with the phase jump signal PJ-i, and thereafter finely adjusts the phase of its transmitting signal in accordance with the phase synchronization control information PC-i. It is therefore possible to synchronize the phases of the signals transmitted from terminal stations and received at the base station. Accordingly, an orthogonal code is used for spreading on the reverse links.

  • Patent number: 6693956
Abstract: A power amplifier having a negative feedback circuit for a transmitter and a control method for its phase are arranged as follows. An I-component baseband signal is added to an I-component baseband feedback signal for producing an I-component adding signal. A Q-component baseband signal is added to a Q-component baseband feedback signal for producing a Q-component adding signal. A modulator orthogonally modulates a carrier signal by the I-component adding signal and the Q-component adding signal. An amplifying circuit operates to amplify the quadrature-modulated signal. A demodulating circuit orthogonally demodulates the part of the output of the amplifying circuit and the carrier signal and then outputs the I-component baseband feedback signal and the Q-component baseband feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 6687386
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for detecting an object in the image pickup field by template matching and tracking the detected object. An intruding object is detected from an image acquired by an image pickup device which takes the image of an image pickup field. A template image is formed from the detected object and is stored in a storing unit. A template matching is performed between a present input image of the image pickup field and the template image stored in the storing unit to detect the location of that part of the object which has a maximum degree of coincidence with the template image. An edge detection of the object is performed over a predetermined search area in the present input image which area includes the detected part of the object having a maximum degree of coincidence. Based on results of the edge detection, the detected part of the object is corrected and is determined as the present location of the object.

  • Patent number: 6590871
Abstract: A multi-carrier modulation apparatus to which transmultiplexers are applied. A multiplexing signal is treated as a synthesis of a plurality of multiplexed signals which are separated by a wider interval than the multiplexing frequency interval. Signals of channels 1 to M continuously frequency-multiplexed at a channel interval fB are treated as a synthetic signal of signals of channel 1 to channel 2N−1 and signals of channel 1 to channel 2N which are frequency-multiplexed at a channel interval 2fB. Individual multiplexed signals are synthesized by a plurality of transmultiplexers of less multiplexing number to make characteristics of polyphase filters required for the transmultiplexers less sharp.
