  • Patent number: 8493305
Abstract: An image processing unit (2 in FIG. 1) discards a high gray level side of input image data (RiGiBi) in accordance with a chroma coefficient (Csc), thereby to generate a signal of lowered chroma, and it expands the signal into output image data (RoGoBo) of full scale. Besides, the image processing unit (2) generates an image adjustment parameter (Th) and performs a control so as to reduce power of backlight (6), in interlocking with the full-scale expansion.

  • Patent number: 8493345
Abstract: A highly reliable electrostatic-capacitive-type display device with a touch panel which allows a user to perform finger touch inputting and exhibits excellent detection sensitivity is provided. A transparent conductive film is formed above a back surface of an electrostatic-capacitive-type touch panel so as to block noises generated by a display device. A conductive member is provided to supply a voltage to a transparent conductive film formed above a back surface of the touch panel. An electrode which is formed on the electrostatic-capacitive-type touch panel is divided in accordance with a ratio between the number of X electrodes and the number of Y electrodes. A floating electrode is formed in a gap defined between the electrodes so as to adjust an area of the electrode. Due to the shrinkage of the area of the electrode, it is possible to lower a noise level to a level equal to or lower than a signal level. Accordingly, an S/N ratio is increased thus enhancing detection sensitivity.

Abstract: The present invention overcomes image defects such as the brightness inclination or smears by reducing the line resistance of a power source bus line which supplies electricity to organic EL elements. A plurality of pixels which are arranged in a matrix array is connected to power source lines, and the plurality of power source lines are connected to a power source bus line. Both ends of the power source bus line are connected to a power source part via a FPC. By supplying electricity to both ends of the power source bus line from the power source part, the line resistance of the power source bus line can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 8477086
Abstract: In an organic EL display, correction is made for a difference in screen luminance between the case of measuring characteristics of OLED elements, and the case of not measuring the characteristics of the OLED elements. A data line for feeding image data items, and a detection line for measuring the characteristics of the OLED elements are connected to respective pixels. Detection of the characteristics of the OLED elements is executed by utilizing a specified period of a frame period.
