  • Patent number: 7337299
Abstract: A technique is provided in which, even when the number of devices and device addresses handled in the storage apparatus side increases, it is possible to access all the devices and save used resources by simple control of the configuration definition information without adding the device addresses retained on the host side. The host side handles a virtual device for an access to an actual device handled on a storage apparatus side to retain a virtual device address, specifies an actual device to be mounted to the virtual device, and makes an access for data input/output by the virtual device address. A CHA of a controller maps an actual device address to a virtual device address and retains it in a table in a SM, and when receiving the access by the virtual device address, obtains the corresponding actual device address from the table to access the actual device.

  • Patent number: 7336786
Abstract: Information or contents cannot be reproduced even from a regular storage medium which is encrypted in accordance with a predetermined encryption system, due to erroneous detection of watermarks. Detection of the watermarks and restriction over reproduction depending thereon is conducted only in a case where the medium is not encrypted. In case of detecting that the data is not encrypted in accordance with a predetermined encryption system by an encryption detection circuit and when the watermarks are detected by a watermark detection circuit, reproduction of the data is stopped by a reproduction restricting circuit. In a case that it is detected to be encrypted in the predetermined encryption system by the encryption detection circuit, the reproduction restricting circuit will not stop the reproduction thereof.

  • Patent number: 7337283
Abstract: A user operates an input device to set information necessary for reserving a volume and a port while looking at a screen for reservation management displayed on a display device Next, a storage management program retrieves reservable volumes and ports using a volume retrieval subprogram of a policy basis. At this point, when a policy concerning performance is inputted, the storage management program inquires of a performance analysis program of a storage performance management server whether the performance is satisfied. When the volume and the port are found, the storage management program stores reservation information in a reservation management DB using a reservation subprogram. When the volume and the port are not found, the storage management program judges whether an alternative volume for the reserved volume is present using a volume adjustment subprogram.

  • Patent number: 7337281
Abstract: A channel adapter connected to a host has a local cache memory. The channel adapter duplexes and writes the write-data in the local cache memory in response to a data-write request from the host. Then, the channel adapter sends the write-completion to the host and transfers all of the write-data within the local cache memory to the main cache memory in asynchronous timing. The channel adapter manages directory information of the data within the local cache memory. In response to a data-read request from the host, the channel adapter checks whether the read-data hits or not in the local cache memory based on the directory information. If the read-data hits, the read-data is transferred from the local cache memory to the host.

  • Patent number: 7335928
Abstract: A silicon carbide semiconductor device such as JFET, SIT and the like is provided for accomplishing a reduction in on-resistance and high-speed switching operations. In the JFET or SIT which turns on/off a current with a depletion layer extending in a channel between a gate region formed along trench grooves, a gate contact layer and a gate electrode, which can be supplied with voltages from the outside, are formed on one surface of a semiconductor substrate or on the bottom of the trench groove. A metal conductor (virtual gate electrode) is formed in ohmic contact with a p++ contact layer of the gate region on the bottom of the trench grooves independently of the gate electrode. The virtual gate electrode is electrically isolated from the gate electrode and an external wire.

  • Patent number: 7336008
Abstract: The invention concerns with connection of a lead from an electrical component of an alternator for a vehicle, and provides a terminal shape suitable for TIG welding (arc welding using a gas shielded non-consumable electrode) without being affected by dimensional accuracy of terminals to be connected to each other. Cross-shaped projections having a larger volume than a welded region of the terminal is provided near the welded region, and weld penetration (welding depth) is controlled based on a difference in heat capacity resulting from the volume difference, or melting is suppressed with promotion of heat radiation. Thus, the welding depth is stabilized without being affected by dimensional accuracy of the terminals including relative positions between them, and an alternator for a vehicle can be provided in which a lead from an electrical component has high connection reliability.

  • Publication number: 20080046461
Abstract: On receiving a page request from a WWW browser of a user, a WWW server acquires a previously generated fixed page and transmits the fixed page to the WWW browser as a reply. The browser displays the fixed page received from the WWW server and transmits a request for a dynamic page to the WWW server according to a process which has been embedded in the fixed page. The WWW server which received the dynamic page request from the WWW browser runs a dynamic page generation program, requesting the dynamic page generation program to generate the dynamic page. The dynamic page generation program generates the dynamic page from a template and the latest data stored in a database. The WWW server transmits the generated dynamic page to the WWW browser as a reply to the dynamic page request.

  • Patent number: 7333677
Abstract: The present invention provides a high-precision alignment method, device and code for inspections that compare an inspection image with a reference image and detect defects from their differences. In one embodiment an inspection image and a reference image are divided into multiple regions. An offset is calculated for each pair of sub-images. Out of these multiple offsets, only the offsets with high reliability are used to determine an offset for the entire image. This allows high-precision alignment with little or no dependency on pattern density or shape, differences in luminance between images, and uneven luminance within individual images. Also, detection sensitivity is adjusted as necessary by monitoring alignment precision.
