Abstract: A display device having display memory and a display unit including a display plane for displaying contents of the display memory includes a boundary co-ordinate setting unit for setting co-ordinate values on the display plane of boundaries demarcating various display sections which are made by dividing a display area of the display plane into a plurality of areas, a co-ordinate memory for storing the set boundary co-ordinate values, an input data memory for storing input data having co-ordinate values corresponding to the display area of the display plane, a display scale factor setting unit for setting display scale factors of the input data of each of the display sections and a scale factor memory for storing the set display scale factors.

Abstract: A program replacing method is provided for an uninterruptible online computer system. The computer system includes an auxiliary storage unit for storing a program currently running in the computer system and another program to replace the current running program and a replacement request managing table for storing replacement requests and program IDs of such replacing programs. These programs include checkpoints pre-programmed at selected locations therein. At an optional checkpoint, the replacement request managing table is retrieved for checking whether or not the replacement is requested. If a replacement is requested, the new program is started according to the program ID and the current program is terminated.

Abstract: A circuit device (e.g. mounted on a printed circuit board) is connected to a data network, to which network are also connected a plurality of other circuit devices under power. On removal of such a circuit device, the output driver connecting the circuit components of the output device to the communications bus of the bus network is first disconnected from power, and only when its disconnection is stable is the device withdrawn. A control device of the circuit device is connected to the control bus of the data network, and before power is disconnected from the output driver, the control device signals to the network so as to prevent other circuit devices connected to the network from signalling on the network. Effectively, the circuit device to be removed "occupies" the bus. This occupation is maintained until the disconnection of the output driver is stable, and then the circuit device can be removed from the network.

Abstract: A signal transmission system comprising an apparatus which inhibits the repeating in the opposite direction during reception and transmission of frames and which monitors the number of frames which were outputted in one direction from a repeater and the number of frames which were returned from such direction, whereby a destruction and circulation of the frame are inhibited without reducing response speed of a signal.

Abstract: A housing for accomodating an electronic apparatus including heat-generating parts, in which the surface of a cooling air inlet port in the front or rear side of the housing is formed in arcuate fashion and recessed as viewed from the interior of the housing. As a result, the velocity of air introduced is remarkably reduced thereby improving the heat radiation of the housing.

Abstract: The movement volumes of X and Y to the X axial direction and the Y axial direction and the rotate angle .theta. of the coordinate input device moved on the substrate, are calculated by the input controller. The calculating device outputs instruction signals to the display device to move the cursor displayed on the display device by the movement volumes of X and Y, and rotate the cursor by the rotation angle corresponding to that calculated by the input controller.
