Abstract: A semiconductor wafer inspection tool and a semiconductor wafer inspection method capable of conducting an inspection under appropriate conditions in any one of an NVC (Negative Voltage Contrast) mode and a PVC (Positive Voltage Contrast) mode is provided. Primary electrons 2 are irradiated onto a wafer to be inspected 6 and the irradiation position thereof is scanned in an XY direction. Secondary electrons (or reflected electrons) 10 from the wafer to be inspected 6 are controlled by a charge control electrode 5 and detected by a sensor 11. An image processor converts a detection signal from the sensor 11 to a detected image, compares the detected image with a predetermined reference image, judges defects, an overall control section 14 selects inspection conditions from recipe information for each wafer to be inspected 6 and sets a voltage to be applied to the charge control electrode 5.

Abstract: A fuel control system for a cylinder direct injection internal combustion engine. A predetermined portion of the fuel spray is appropriately ignited regardless of the correction of the ignition timing, thereby always securing stable, satisfactory combustion. In the case where the ignition timing is corrected, the fuel injection timing is corrected in accordance with the ignition timing correction amount. The fuel injection timing is corrected also with the change in the internal cylinder pressure and the fuel injection velocity taking the intake pipe pressure and the fuel pressure into account, thereby maintaining the required ignition point of the fuel spray.

Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a focused ion beam apparatus capable of prolonging a service life of an aperture, preventing contaminants from increasing when a column valve is closed, and being quickly restarted. A high-voltage power supply controller lowers an extraction voltage applied to an extraction electrode or lowers a control voltage applied to a control electrode to set an emission to 0 ?A when a column valve is closed. The high-voltage power supply controller returns the extraction voltage applied to the extraction electrode to an original extraction voltage or returns the control voltage applied to the control electrode to an original control voltage when a column valve is opened.

  • Publication number: 20080068748
Abstract: A thermally-assisted perpendicular magnetic recording head and system has a head carrier that supports an optical channel for the transmission of radiation to the recording layer, a write pole for directing a magnetic field to the recording layer, and an electrical coil for inducing the magnetic field from the write pole. The optical channel has a radiation exit face with an aperture at the recording-layer-facing surface of the head carrier. The write pole has a pole tip with an end face that is recessed from the recording-layer-facing surface. The write pole tip is tapered down to the end faces. The pole tip taper and the recession of the end face concentrates the write field at the middle of the perpendicular magnetic recording layer where the radiation from the optical channel is incident. The characteristic dimension of the aperture and the spacing between the aperture and the recording layer are both less than the wavelength of the radiation.

  • Patent number: 7345851
Abstract: A disk drive with a dual-stage actuator has a moving-slider rotary piezoelectric microactuator as the secondary actuator. The microactuator has a substrate attached to the disk drive suspension. A rotatable frame that supports the slider is attached to a fixed post on the substrate by relatively stiff torsional springs. A piezoelectric driver having a fixed end attached to the substrate provides bidirectional linear displacement of its movable end. The microactuator includes a displacement amplification mechanism. In one embodiment an arm or connecting rod is located between the driver's movable end and the frame. A linkage between the movable end of the driver and a first end of the connecting rod translates the linear displacement of the driver to amplified orthogonal linear displacement of the rod. The second end of the rod is attached to the rotatable frame at a radial distance to cause rotary movement of the frame, and thereby cross-track displacement of the read/write head on the slider.
