  • Patent number: 7340824
Abstract: A first magnetic shield layer of the read head sensor is deposited upon a slider substrate surface. A patterned photoresist is then photolithographically fabricated upon the first magnetic shield layer with openings that are formed alongside the location at which the read sensor will be fabricated. An ion milling step is performed to create pockets within the surface of the magnetic shield layer at the location of the openings in the photoresist layer. The photoresist layer is then removed, and a fill layer is deposited across the surface of the magnetic shield layer in a depth greater than the depth of the pocket. Thereafter, a polishing step is conducted to remove portions of the fill layer down to the surface of the magnetic shield layer. A G1 insulation layer is deposited and a magnetic head sensor element is then fabricated upon the insulation layer.

  • Patent number: 7342378
Abstract: A driving apparatus of a synchronous motor fixes all the switching devices of an inverter at OFF in accordance with a value of an all-OFF control pulse signal outputted by a pulse generator. A motor current keeps flowing through free wheel diodes for a predetermined period even after all the switching devices shift to the OFF state. Therefore, pulse generator changes an induced voltage detection signal to an H (high) level after the passage of the time in which a motor current drops down to zero. A terminal voltage of the motor is taken in to acquire an induced voltage and a rotor position is estimated.

  • Patent number: 7341825
Abstract: A method for producing high resolution nano-imprinting masters is disclosed. The method inverts the negative features of an exposed and developed positive e-beam resist to positive features in the patterned silicon nitride layer of the nano-imprinting master. A first, oxidation resistant, mask layer is used to pattern a DLC layer deposited on the silicon nitride layer. After patterning the DLC layer, the negative features of the DLC layer are filled with deposited metal, which creates a second mask layer subsequent to the removal of the remaining DLC layer. The second mask layer is used to etch the silicon nitride layer, creating the final nano-imprinting master.

  • Patent number: 7342735
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to writing servo patterns having aligned phases onto a recording disk in a process to write the servo patterns onto the disk. In one embodiment, time aligned patterns are written onto a magnetic disk on the basis of time intervals between base patterns with timings aligned to each other throughout tracks on the disk. The time aligned patterns are written onto typically servo tracks at time intervals Ts with aligned timings. Then, on the basis of these time aligned patterns, product servo patterns are written onto the disk. A time aligned pattern is written onto the disk after the lapse of a predetermined write time period since detection of a base pattern corresponding to the time aligned pattern. The write time period is determined on the basis of time intervals between base patterns on adjacent tracks.

  • Patent number: 7342749
Abstract: A method for removing a lead-free solder from a slider pad is provided to permit re-utilization of a head/slider used in a magnetic disk drive. In one embodiment, a slider pad formed on a head/slider and a lead pad are connected to each other through a lead-free solder fillet. A cutting tool is heated beforehand to a temperature near the melting point of the lead-free solder. The cutting tool is moved in parallel with a surface of the slider pad to cut the solder fillet while softening the solder fillet. The solder fillet is removed so as not to impose a stress on the slider pad and in a state in which the head/slider can be re-utilized.

  • Publication number: 20080057393
Abstract: The present invention provides a secondary battery module which is excellent in vibration resistance. A battery module 20 has assembled battery blocks 11 each constituted by screw-fixing the assembled batteries 2 to the block bases 3, 4 supporting a lower portion thereof and the two block reinforcing plates 5 supporting an upper portion thereof, the six assembled batteries 2 are sandwiched by and fixed firmly to the block bases 3, 4 and the block reinforcing plates 5. The assembled batteries 2 do not move freely even if vibration is added to the battery module 20. Because the elastic sheet 9 is laid between the block bases 3, 4 and the assembled batteries 2, since a space derived due to variance in size accuracy of frames 12 which hold and fix the unit cells 11 and derived due to variance in size accuracy of the block bases 3, 4 can be removed, and vibration resistance can be enhanced.
