Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing cylindrical or round parts of high-T.sub.c superconductor material comprising bismuth, strontium, calcium, copper and oxygen. In this process, a pre-prepared finely-divided oxide mixture with organic additives is first introduced at room temperature into a casting mold. The shaped mixture is then converted into the superconducting shaped part by subsequent thermal treatment.

Abstract: The present invention describes the novel intermediates 2,3-difluoro-6-nitrobenzonitrile and 2-chloro-5,6-difluorobenzonitrile, a process for their preparation and their advantageous use for the preparation of 2,3,6-trifluorobenzoic acid, which in turn is a valuable intermediate for the preparation of insecticides and antibacterial agents. The intermediates according to the invention are prepared from 2,3,4-trifluoronitrobenzene by fluorine/cyanide exchange and subsequent denitrating chlorination. 2,3,6-Trifluorobenzoic acid can be prepared from the novel intermediates, in a manner known per se in the literature, by simple chlorine/fluorine exchange and subsequent hydrolysis in a process which overall is industrially advantageous and economically favorable.

Abstract: Fluoronitrobenzenes are prepared in an advantageous way from the corresponding chloronitrobenzenes and an alkali metal fluoride by means of a chlorine-fluorine exchange reaction with replacement of a chlorine atom by a fluorine atom, by catalyzing the reaction with a quaternaryammonium compound which comprises at least one alkoxypolyoxyalkyl radical.
Abstract: A process for preparing 5-acetoacetylamino-2-benzimidazolone by continuous reaction of 5-amino-2-benzimidazolone with diketene comprises carrying out the reaction in the presence of a water-soluble (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)-alcohol or of a mixture of this alcohol with water at the boiling temperature.
Abstract: There are described amino-substituted benzenesulfonylureas and -thioureas of the formula I ##STR1## The compounds I are used for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and for the prevention of sudden heart death caused by arrhythmias and can therefore be used as antiarrhythmics. They are particularly suitable for those cases in which arrhythmias are a result of constriction of a coronary vessel, such as in angina pectoris or in acute cardiac infarct.

Abstract: Supported catalyst, process for its preparation and its use for the preparation of vinyl acetateThe invention relates to improved Pd/K/Au, Pd/K/Ba and Pd/K/Cd supported catalysts, their preparation and their use for the preparation of vinyl acetate from ethylene, acetic acid and oxygen in the gas phase. The stated catalysts are prepared by atomizing a solution of corresponding metal salts by means of ultrasonics and then applying them in such limited amounts and within such a limited time to the carrier particles, and beginning to dry them, so that the catalytically active metal salts cannot penetrate into the carrier particles as far as the core but only into a larger or smaller outer part.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of alcohols by reaction of organic carbonyl compounds with hydrogen in two stages at elevated temperature and, optionally, elevated pressure. In the first stage, hydrogen and the carbonyl compounds are fed as a gas to a copper-containing catalyst and reacted to 80 to 99.5 percent of the theoretical conversion. In the second stage, the reaction product of the first stage is fed to a nickel/alumina/zirconium dioxide catalyst as a liquid, along with hydrogen. The carbonyl compounds used include aldehydes and their derivatives and, in particular, aliphatic unsaturated and saturated aldehydes.
