Patent number: 6866205Abstract: An apparatus for generating a combustible gas flame above a surface of a liquid. The apparatus may include a manifold including a manifold space that is completely or partially positioned within the liquid and a combustible gas source. Combustible gas from the gas source may be delivered to the manifold space and delivered into the liquid or a space above the liquid. The combustible gas may then be ignited to create a combustible gas flame. The combustible gas may also be mixed with air or liquid prior to delivery to the manifold space. In addition, a pump may be included to pump a supply of liquid out a liquid outlet to create a desired effect. Alternatively, the apparatus may be disposed on a float on the surface of the liquid.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2002Date of Patent: March 15, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: Robb Edward Bennett, Gary Lee Butler, Thomas J. Patent number: 6865853Abstract: A base plate assembly and method of forming a base plate assembly for use with a wall panel structure that is pleasing in appearance, simple in construction, and easy to install. The base plate assembly is generally u-shaped with top and bottom flanges. Prongs are associated with the top flange that snap into slots on each side of the base of adjacent vertical members that hold wall panels. Slots are located in the bottom flange of the base plate assembly and fit over vertical tabs on each side of spaced supports that enable the height of the vertical members to be adjusted. Pivoting the base plate assembly upward about the vertical tabs allows the prongs to be inserted and locked in the corresponding slots in each side of the base of the adjacent spaced vertical members thereby forming a volume in which electrical wiring, including electrical outlets, may be located.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2003Date of Patent: March 15, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: David J. Burken, James C. Fitzgerald, William J. McKibbin, Christian J. Kleppe, Robert Nichols

Publication number: 20050051153Abstract: A wood burning stove is provided. The combustion chamber in which the fire occurs has a baffle plate that is moveable to direct air flow through one of two different pathways from the combustion chamber to the chimney. When in a first position, the baffle plate forces the air and smoke to move through a first pathway; when in a second position, a by-pass pathway is opened, allowing air and smoke to move through a second pathway. The stove can have a door in the front wall, or the top wall, or both walls, to provide access to the combustion chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2004Publication date: March 10, 2005Applicant: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: Daniel Henry, Matthew Owings, Monte Weaver, Brian Wallace

Patent number: 6863064Abstract: A prefabricated fireplace assembly and method of manufacturing same are disclosed. The assembly is configured for direct mounting to the framework of a rough opening of a building in which it is to be installed. A prefabricated fireplace box having a combustion chamber for either wood or gas fireplaces, is connected to and carried by a surrounding framework of building materials, to provide a zero clearance fireplace module assembly. The framework forms a permanent part of the fireplace assembly and acts as a shipping container, protecting the fireplace box until the assembly is installed. After installation, the framework becomes an integral part of the wall or structure to which the assembly is mounted. External siding of the building and interior room sheetrock can be directly secured to the assembly framework, eliminating the need for additional contractor framing around the fireplace assembly.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2002Date of Patent: March 8, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: David C. Lyons, Dominique R. Pitman, Alfredo Schroeder

Patent number: 6854202Abstract: A versatile work board system having a board and hook assembly mounted to a rail assembly, and the rail assembly is mounted to a wall. A flip chart holder may optionally be hung on the board to add even more versatility to the system. The hook assembly is rotatable, thereby allowing opposite surfaces of the board to be easily and quickly exposed. The exposed surfaces may accept markers or the surfaces may allow tacking of documents, or one surface may be for markers and the other for tacking. The rail assembly includes a bracket designed to be attached to a wall and to mount a rotatable cam. The cam is received by a rail and rotation of the cam causes locking engagement of the rail to the bracket.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2003Date of Patent: February 15, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: Josiah M. Ives, Mark Schaefers, Robert J. Glenn, II, Shawn O. Barrett, William C. Cesaroni

Patent number: 6854233Abstract: A partition panel system that requires no tools, is easy to handle and is quickly assembled. The partition panel system includes a panel of barrier material surrounded by a frame and several sets of connectors. Each connector of one set of connectors has an “H” shaped configuration for attaching to panels for linear alignment of the panels. Each connector of another set of connectors a configuration for attaching panels at right angles. Other angles may be used by providing variation connectors. The connectors are inexpensive because they may be made from extrusions that are cut to a predetermined length.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2003Date of Patent: February 15, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: Terry W. Pitsch, Sean A. Ross

Patent number: 6848441Abstract: A fireplace including a combustion chamber enclosure with an opening and an inner pane positioned to at least partially cover the opening of the combustion chamber. An outer pane is spaced apart from the inner pane, the outer pane and the inner pane creating a space through which air moves, the air cooling the outer pane. A blower may be provided to move the air through the space. The outer pane may be angled with respect to the inner pane to enhance air movement.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 2002Date of Patent: February 1, 2005Assignee: HON Technology Inc.Inventors: Thomas J.
