Abstract: An adjustable chair scat with a locking mechanism that is torque limiting and resistant to loosening. The chair includes a seat pan, a seat plate, a rotatable fastener and two rings. The seat pan and seat plate have openings for receiving the fastener. The fastener includes a cup handle and a threaded insert. The threaded insert is engaged with the seat pan through an opening in the seat pan while the seat plate is sandwiched between the seat pan and the fastener. When being rotated, the cup handle slips relative to the threaded insert after a predetermined resistance is reached so as to cease the application of torque to the threaded insert. One of the rings is keyed to rotate with the fastener and the other ring is keyed to remain non-rotatable. The first ring includes an array of cantilevered teeth where each tooth has a first surface disposed at a smaller angle from a horizontal reference plane and a second surface which is disposed at a greater angle from the horizontal reference plane.

Abstract: A mixture fitting for use in a combustible gas system, for example, a fireplace. The mixture fitting may include a first portion configured to be coupled to a combustible gas source and a second portion configured to be coupled to a burner assembly. The first and second portions together form a gas passage. The mixture fitting also includes an air orifice extending from an exposed surface of the mixture fitting to the gas passage. The air orifice is configured to allow primary air to travel through the air orifice and into the gas passage to facilitate mixing of air with the combustible gas. Alternatively, the air orifice may be angled, and multiple air orifices may also be provided.

Abstract: A simple, inexpensive and reliable chair adjustment mechanism is disclosed. The mechanism includes a base which is fastened to a chair support, a slide attached to an assembly to be adjusted, such as a back or a seat or arms, and a spring device cradled by the base for engaging one of a series of spaced ramps integral with the slide. The slide also includes ramps for pushing the spring device into an out-of-the-way position secured to two hooks on the base so that at the end of the slide's extension it may be returned to a retracted position in one easy movement. When reaching the retracted position, other ramps push the spring device out of the engagement with the hooks so that the spring device extends through a space between the base and the slide to again selectively engage the series of spaced ramps.

Abstract: A gas valve switch structure of a gas stove includes a top base, an aluminum plate, a sealing washer, two rubber washers two fixing pieces, a female base, and a protective plate. The protective plate Is used for sealing the rubber washer and the fixing piece in the oblong hole of the female base. Then, the top base is screwed on the female bases with the aluminum plate and the sealing washer being clamped between the top base and the female base. The air storing chambers of the female base are closed while the rubber washer and the fixing piece are sealed in the oblong hole of the female base by provision of the aluminum plate and the sealing washer, and the gas valve switch structure of the gas stove achieves a gas triple safety switch by provision of the two electromtagnetic valves and the control bolt.

Abstract: A mobile shelving system having tracks and multiple shelf units for moving along the tracks. A shelf unit includes vertical posts that are attached to a carriage using fasteners that are part of the carriage. U-shaped clips connect to the posts and have slots that also accommodate flanges of shelves so that mounting shelves is facilitated. The shelves include a series of slits for receiving tabs that are part of barrier elements. The barrier elements act to limit movement of file folders stored on the shelves.

Abstract: A number of wall panel apparatuses are disclosed. In one embodiment the wall panel apparatus includes a rectangular frame, two oppositely disposed metal tiles, each tile having a number of attachment and mounting clips whereby mounting of the tiles to opposite sides of the rectangular frame is easily accomplished by locating mounting clips attached to the lower edge portions of the tiles to a bottom frame member and pivoting the upper portion of the tiles so that the attachment clips which are resilient snap into place. A glass wall panel apparatus includes the same rectangular frame, however, top and bottom channels cover the top and bottom frame members of the rectangular frame, each of the channels having hook portions for engaging the top and bottom edges of the glass panes. Also included are side shroud channels and tensioning screws to adjust the channels in relation to the glass panes.

Abstract: Described is a system for detecting toxic levels of a contaminate in a monitored area. The system controls an air evacuation device that operates in response to the detection of a predetermined level of contamination. The system also acts to deactivate appliances that may be contributing to the level of contamination. In addition, the system alerts local emergency units with a pre-recorded message of the emergency situation.

Abstract: A vertically and horizontally adjustable chair armrest is disclosed. The armrest includes an outer shroud, an upstanding support with a central opening and an armrest base. Within the central opening is a guide tube that moves vertically and has oppositely disposed slots. Within the guide tube, but mounted to rotate only, is a rod. At the lower end of the rod is a locking element that extends through the slots in the guide tube. The rod is rotated by a user pivoted lever bearing down on a spring biased activator nut. The nut is keyed to move only in a linear direction but is threaded to engage a mating thread on the rod, thereby causing the rod to rotate. When the locking element is rotated out of engagement with notches in the support opening, the armrest may be adjusted in a vertical direction. Releasing the lever allows the spring to bias the locking element into engagement with the notches to lock the armrest.

Abstract: A fireplace for concurrent use inside and outside of a structure includes a combustion chamber enclosure defining a combustion chamber, an inside opening, and an outside opening, wherein the combustion chamber is viewable from the inside of the structure through the inside opening and from the outside of the structure through the outside opening. The fireplace also includes a combustion air plenum system coupled to the combustion chamber enclosure to supply fresh air from the outside to the combustion chamber and an exhaust opening defined by the combustion chamber enclosure for exhausting exhaust air from the combustion chamber to the outside of the structure.

A touch portion of the exposed surface isolated from heat generated within the combustion chamber to reduce a temperature of the touch portion. A control circuit coupled to the touch portion. The control circuit monitoring the touch portion and driving a component of the fireplace in response to a change at the touch portion.

Abstract: A front loading lock system for office furniture including a lockheader having two openings, a reinforcing channel member attached to the lockheader and also having an opening and a bracing lip, a plastic lock housing which is snap fitted into one of the openings in the lockheader and a lock which is axially inserted into the other of the openings in the lockheader, and into an opening in the lock housing, where the lock is supported by both the lock housing and braced by the bracing lip.

Abstract: An air filtration and sterilization system for removing airborne contaminants from air circulated through an air plenum system of a fireplace. Air filtration systems may include particulate, chemical, and ion filtration systems to filter the air. Air sterilization may include ultraviolet, ozone, germicidal coating, and channeled system of ducts systems to sterilize the air. Systems may be used individually or in combination. In addition, optional components, including a warning sensor for indicating when to replace a filter, an automatic initiation sensor for activating and stopping filtration and sterilization, and an air enhancement system for introducing desirable materials into the air, may be provided.
