Abstract: To provide an interior illuminator for an automobile that prevents light leakage to the driver's seat and light reflection in a window glass, can illuminate a backseat more evenly with an adequate quantity of light, consumes less electric power, generates less heat, has a small size and can be produced at a reduced cost. An interior illuminator has: cold cathode tubes 5, 6; a cold cathode tube driving circuit for driving the cold cathode tubes 5, 6; manipulation switches 12, 13, 14 and 15 for turning on and off the cold cathode tubes; and a housing 2 that houses the cold cathode tube driving circuit and holds the cold cathode tubes and the manipulation switches. The housing 2is attached in a position on a longitudinal center line of the automobile and behind the driver's seat, and the cold cathode tubes 5, 6 each have an illumination range set to be lower than the lower edge of a window glass behind the driver's seat.
Abstract: An electronic volume device of an invention includes a common volume I/O 371 for receiving an i-th common volume level Dcom[i] (i=1 to N) on a common scale of N steps, a volume converter 373 for converting the Dcom[i] into a j-th unique volume level Dvol[j] on a unique scale of n steps; and a volume controller 372 for controlling an electronic volume based on the unique volume. The volume converter 373 includes a volume memory for storing an offset between the Dcom[i] and the Dvol [j] and a volume controller that controls at least one of the Dvol[j] and the offset such that the received Dcom agrees with the sum of the Dvol[j] and the offset and controls the Dvol[j] on a higher priority than the offset.
Abstract: A body support tool, such as a seat support, is provided, that may hold a shape in conformity with a sitting shape of a user. A cushion body having flexibility is covered with a sheet-like coating member impregnated with cured resin, and brought into contact with a portion of a human body such as the hips, waist, back or neck. When the user sits on the seat, for example, the body support tool cures in conformity with that body portion.
Abstract: A CD changer support device mountable in a trunk forming a luggage compartment of a motorcycle, includes a storage recess to store a CD changer. The storage recess is provided in a luggage compartment-forming wall of the trunk. A swing support device allows the CD changer to swing between a protruding position where the opening of the CD changer protrudes inside the luggage compartment and a storage position where the CD changer is stored within the storage recess. A cover plate covers the CD changer. When the CD changer is in the storage position, the cover plate blocks the opening of the storage recess so as to be flush with the inner surface of the luggage compartment-forming wall. When an operating force is applied to the swing support device, the CD changer swings between the protruding position and the storage position.
Abstract: A photocatalytic filter having a coating layer formed in a thickness of 5 to 60 &mgr;m on a base material and including 5 to 60% by weight of ultraviolet ray-transmissible particles (such as glass particles or fibers) having a minor axis of 0.2 to 50 &mgr;m, 20 to 80% by weight of photocatalytical particles (TiO2) having an average particle size of 0.001 to 0.02 &mgr;m, 10 to 60% by weight of fine silica particles having an average particle size of 0.002 to 0.2 &mgr;m and optionally 0.2 to 20% by weight of a clay mineral material, preferably a portion of the ultraviolet ray-transmissible particles being exposed to the outside of the coating layer, exhibits a high air-cleaning activity, a high adhesion of the coating layer to the base material and a high durability in the air-cleaning activity.
Abstract: A grip 6b is projectingly provided on one side of an upper end of a control lever 4.sub.1, 4.sub.2 of a controller for a boat propelling device, and a switch accommodating portion 7b is projectingly provided on the other side. Control switches 14 and 15 are mounted in the switch accommodating portion 7b. The switch accommodating portion 7b is formed, on its front surface on the side of an operator, with an operating face 23 which is inclined, so that it comes closer to a center plane 21 extending laterally of the control lever 4.sub.1, 4.sub.2 at a laterally outer location. The control switches 14 and 15 have operating buttons 14a and 15a mounted to face the operating face 23. Thus, when the operator grasps the grip portion of the control lever, the thumb of his or her hand is naturally opposed to the operating buttons of the control switches and hence, the operator can extremely easily operate the operating buttons.
