Abstract: An antitheft system and method capable of being more easily mounted than was conventionally done, with a detecting capability, necessary and sufficient to determine the occurrence of a theft. An RSS value r is calculated as a square-root of sum of squares by putting together each of variations in X-, Y- and Z-axes in a sensor unit 38. Then, a moving average value av obtained by averaging a predetermined number of consecutive RSS values r taken in chronological order is utilized to determine whether a theft is in process or not. Hence, even if an X-axis detector 41, a Y-axis detector 42 and a Z-axis detector 43 are not matched to longitudinal, lateral and vertical directions FR, LR and UD of a two-wheeled motor vehicle, it is possible to determine whether a theft is in process or not.

  • Publication number: 20100271837
Abstract: In a vehicular illumination device which illuminates a lower part around an opened part of a door at a side of a vehicle, a side sill garnish is provided below the door-opened part, and a lamp and a lamp garnish which retains the lamp are arranged on a lower face of the side sill garnish. As the lamp is retained by the lamp garnish, the lamp can efficiently and appropriately illuminate an underfoot floor when a person rides on and off the vehicle. Moreover, the lamp garnish has a recess, and an edge which is provided around an opened part of the recess. As the lamp is arranged in the recess, the lamp is not visually recognized directly from the exterior of edge parts, thereby preventing a following vehicle from falsely recognizing the lamp as a backup lamp.

  • Publication number: 20100161220
Abstract: In a navigation apparatus having a base unit that is fastenable to a dashboard at a driver's seat of a vehicle; a front panel unit that is attachable to and detachable from the base unit and is equipped with a display displaying map data; and a microcomputer that performs a navigation function to indicate a determined location of the vehicle on the map data, it is configured such that a part of the front panel unit projects from a surface of the dashboard toward a user seated in the driver's seat, as viewed from side, when the front panel unit is attached to the base unit. With this, the degree of freedom of front panel unit attachment/detachment with respect to the base unit is improved without sacrificing the appearance of the navigation apparatus.
