Abstract: A method of evaluating pilot performance receives and processes avionics data at a database system. The database system computes component scores for the pilot based on the avionics data. Each component score represents a performance grade for a pilot-controlled operation of the aircraft. The database system saves the component scores in association with a pilot performance record for the pilot, and calculates an overall score based on the component scores. The overall score represents a flight performance grade for the pilot. The database system saves the overall score in association with the pilot performance record, and generates a report derived from the component scores and the overall score. A graphical representation of the report is communicated to an electronic device.

The method includes displaying the determined in ground effect limit value and the determined out of ground effect limit value on the display.
Abstract: A thrust reverser system for a turbine engine includes a support structure, a transcowl, a door, and an anti-rotation structure. The transcowl is mounted on the support structure and has an inner surface. The transcowl is axially translatable, relative to the support structure, between first and second positions. The door is pivotally coupled to the turbine engine, and has a forward edge and an aft edge. The door is rotatable between stowed and deployed positions when the transcowl translates between the first and second positions, respectively. The anti-rotation structure extends from the transcowl and is disposed adjacent to the aft edge of the door when the transcowl is in the first position and the door is in the stowed position. The anti-rotation structure is configured such that door rotation out of the stowed position only occurs subsequent to or concurrently with translation of the transcowl out of the first position.

Abstract: Cockpit display systems and methods are provided for generating cockpit displays including symbology useful in assessing whether enhanced flight visibility requirements are satisfied during approach and landing. In one embodiment, the cockpit display system includes an Enhanced Flight Vision System (EFVS) sensor configured to monitor a region forward of the aircraft for runway reference features, a cockpit display device on which an EFVS image is generated utilizing EFVS sensor data, and a controller coupled to the EFVS sensor and to the display device. The controller determines an enhanced flight visibility requirement for a runway approached by the aircraft, and then visually indicates on the EFVS image whether enhanced flight visibility requirement is currently satisfied by, for example.

Abstract: Embodiments of a gas turbine engine rotor including stress relief features are provided, as are embodiments of method for producing a gas turbine engine rotor. In one embodiment, the method includes producing a hub preform in which a plurality of elongated sacrificial cores are embedded. Blades are attached to an outer circumference of the hub preform by, for example, bonding a blade ring to the outer circumference of the preform. The blades are spaced about the rotational axis of the gas turbine engine rotor and circumferentially interspersed with the plurality of elongated sacrificial cores. The plurality of elongated sacrificial cores are then removed from the hub preform to yield a plurality of stress distribution tunnels extending in the hub preform.
Abstract: A cable bushing includes a metal tube, at least one cable for signal transmission received from a sensor which extends in an opposite direction inside the metal tube, which, in at least one axial end region sits with an immovable fit in a through-hole of a bearing block. The bearing block is arranged in a sealed manner in a passage of a housing wall or is connected in a sealed manner to the sensor.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for generating a maintainer troubleshooting tree from the content of a digitally stored fault model of a complex system in real time. The method comprises retrieving all failure modes from a fault model of the complex system for a specific corrective action. The method then receives symptoms from sensors monitoring the complex system in real time and generates a symptom pattern and an associated symptom hash from the received symptoms. The method creates san ambiguity group from the retrieved failure modes. The method further retrieves all repair procedures and test procedures related to the ambiguity group of failure modes, creates a troubleshooting tree for the ambiguity group by ranking each repair procedure and test procedure, and retrieves all technical references encountered while creating the trouble shooting tree. The method then compiles and renders the troubleshooting tree and the references into a user perceivable document.
