Abstract: A method for epoxidation of olefins with 2 to 6 C atoms, especially propene, with hydrogen peroxide in the gas phase at a temperature below 250° C. The reaction is carried out by bringing a gas mixture containing the olefin, hydrogen peroxide and water into contact with the catalyst from the series of compounds of an element of the 4th to the 6th subgroup of the periodic table or of arsenic or selenium and molecular sieves in the absence of a liquid phase. Titanium-containing molecular sleeves are preferred catalysts.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the one-stage resalting and purification of oligopeptides. Oligopeptides are often not formed directly as acetates when synthesised. Acetate salts of oligopeptides are however desirable as bulk-active material for medical and formulation reasons. Processes known from the prior art have hitherto involved two separate steps or pyridine-containing solvents. The resalting and purification can be combined in one step and the use of pyridine as solvent can be avoided, if the oligopeptide in the form of its chloride salt is purified with an acetate-containing solvent by liquid chromatography methods.

Abstract: Inversion carbon blacks and a method for their manufacture are disclosed. The inversion carbon blacks have a lower rolling resistance with identical or improved wet skid behavior. The particle size distribution contains a smaller proportion of particles with large diameters. This leads to an improved abrasion behavior of rubber compounds which were prepared using these carbon blacks. The inversion carbon blacks can be manufactured in conventional carbon black reactors by controlling the combustion in the combustion chamber in such a manner that carbon black nuclei form, which are immediately brought into contact with the carbon black raw material. The carbon blacks present a lower proportion of larger particles if the additions of combustion air and carbon black raw material are increased in an appropriate manner.

Abstract: A process for reducing the nitrogen oxides content of the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine includes treating the exhaust gas in an electric gas discharge such that at least one of nitrogen dioxide or nitric acid are formed from nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas; storing the nitrogen dioxides and/or the nitric acid in the form of nitrates on a nitrogen oxides storage material during phases when the engine operates with a greater than a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio (i.e., the storage phase); decomposing the nitrates to give nitrogen oxides during brief phases when the engine operates with a less than the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio (i.e., the desorption phase); and reducing the nitrogen oxides which are released from the storage material to nitrogen. The nitrogen oxides storage material may be located in an electric gas discharge zone, and the exhaust gas may be passed through the discharge and then over the storage material.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of coated peroxygen compounds, in particular sodium percarbonate, by fluidized bed coating. By using a fluidized bed reactor with a radial inflow base, the passage openings of which allow the fluidized bed gas to emerge in the region of the opening at an angle of less than 35°, measured with respect to the horizontal, in the form of directed part streams, and in which are arranged spray nozzles, the pulse of which points in the same direction as the pulse of the fluidizing gas, it is possible to obtain products with an increased active oxygen stability. A circular reactor, the inflow base of which has lamellae overlapping like turbine blades and nozzles aligned in the direction of rotation of the fluidized bed is preferred.
