Abstract: An aqueous aluminium silicate suspension having a content of aluminium silicate of at least 30 wt. % is prepared by liquefaction of the aluminium silicate filter cake or by dispersion of aluminium silicate powder in water with the addition of aluminium silicate powder, surfactant and aluminium sulfate. Abstract: Measurement of density and mass flow of disperse systems with a gas as fluid phase flowing through a pipe is carried out by introducing sound in the frequency range 20-2,000 Hz in the middle of the cross-section of the pipe. The sound has a wavelength which is at least half the pipe diameter. The speed propagation of sound waves in the flowing disperse system is is measured in the axial direction of flow over at least two transit sections of differing length; and the speed propagation of sound waves in the flowing disperse system is also measured in a direction contrary to the axial direction of flow over at least two transit sections of differing length. The fill level of a reception member in communication with a line of the disperse system is calculated from the measured mass flow rate over a period of time.

Abstract: The invention discloses three polynucleotide sequences for the fermentative production of D-pantothenic acid. These polynucleotide sequences are genes named panB, encoding a ketopantoate hydroxymethyltransferase, panC, encoding pantothenate synthase, and ilvD, encoding dihydroxy-acid dehydratase. The genes panB and panC are found on the same operon, panBC, while the gene ilvD is found in a separate operon. These genes can be used separately or together to enhance the production of D-pantothenic acid in microorganisms, especially in Corynebacterium.
Abstract: A process of operating a nitrogen oxides storage catalyst of an exhaust gas treatment system is described. The process relates to the cycling of the normalized air/fuel ratio &lgr;-value of the exhaust gas exiting the engine, in which a lambda value greater than 1 represents oxygen-rich, lean burn conditions in which a sorption phase for the sorption of nitrogen oxides takes place; and in which a lambda value less than 1 represents oxygen-poor, rich burn conditions in which a desorption and conversion phase for the desorption and conversion of nitrogen oxides takes place. The &lgr;-value of the exhaust gas downstream from the storage catalyst is monitored during the desorption and conversion phase to determine the end of the desorption and conversion phase based on the &lgr;-value falling below a predetermined threshold value.
