Abstract: The present disclosure provides a dialkyl carbonate prepared from a methyl branched primary C16-C17 alcohol. The dialkyl carbonate is prepared by transesterifying a reactant dialkyl carbonate with the methyl branched primary C16-C17 alcohol under transesterification reaction conditions. The subsequently produced dialkyl carbonate may be used in various applications, including, but not limited to, in lubricating, cosmetic and textile products and applications.
Abstract: New stabilizers for solutions of choline hydroxide and related quaternary trialkylalkanolamines are disclosed. The stabilizers are alkyl hydroxylamines, hydrazines, hydrazides, or derivates thereof, including compounds containing more than one such functionality. The new stabilizers are effective at concentrations less than about 1000 ppm, and choline hydroxide solutions stabilized with the compounds described herein typically have Gardner Color change less than about 2.0 after six months at reasonable temperatures.
Abstract: A sticker adjuvant that may be used in agrochemical compositions is disclosed. The sticker adjuvant is a polyether amide or a polyether imide formed by the reaction of a polyether polyamine with a polyfunctional monomer. The polyfunctional monomer may be a polyacid, a di-functional acyl halide, an acid anhydride, a poly(acid anhydride) and a mixture thereof.

Abstract: A process for preparing a catalyst by selecting an active catalyst and contacting the active catalyst with one or more fluids containing an organic solvent or mixture of organic solvents. In one embodiment, each organic solvent has a dielectric constant within a range of about 5 to about 55 when measured at a temperature of 20° C. to 25° C. The catalyst thus prepared may be used in a process for preparing maleic anhydride.
Abstract: Provided herein are compositions useful as ink or coatings which contain novel dispersants that are capable of dispersing pigments which are traditionally difficult to disperse while maintaining acceptable levels of viscosity. Use of dispersants as taught herein enables the preparation of a wide variety of inks and coatings having high pigment loading and existing within a conventionally-useful viscosity range.
Abstract: Accelerator compositions useful in the curing of epoxy resins having at least one amine and a glycerin and methods for making the accelerator compositions are provided.
Abstract: An amine according to the invention has a formula (CH3)2NCH2CH2OCH2CH2CH2N(R1)(R2) wherein R1 is selected from (CH3)2NCH2CH2OCH2CH2CH2— and R2 is selected from the group consisting of H—, CH3(CnH2n)—, HO(CmH2m)— and (CH3)2NCH2CH2OCH2CH2CH2—, n being an integer in the range of 0 to 5, m being an integer in the range of 2 to 4.

Abstract: In agricultural practice it is known to use emulsifiable oils (commonly referred to a Crop Oil Concentrates, COC) as bioefficacy enhancers for pesticides, especially herbicides. Cationic surfactants are widely known to be particularly effective bio-active enhancers for herbicides, especially for glyphosate-type herbicides. The present invention includes two novel aspects: 1) While the vast majority of COCs are petroleum-based paraffinic oils or esterified seed oils, this invention embodies a new oil phase, a hydrocarbon oil such exemplified by EXXON-MOBIL'S D-130, which when combined with the surfactants described herein, exhibits surprising enhancement of herbicidal activity in field tests; and 2) COC's are designed to form stable emulsions in water. The combination of cationic surfactants and phosphate esters in this invention not only form very stable emulsions in water, but, surprisingly, also form extremely stable emulsions in concentrated liquid fertilizers, including 32-0-0 fertilizer.
