  • Patent number: 8251644
Abstract: An engine blower includes a centrifugal blower, an engine, and a frame for supporting the centrifugal blower. The centrifugal blower is supported by a back support of the frame via a flexible vibration-proofing section while being connected to the back support via a belt-shaped stopper. An engaging hole is provided on at least one of the centrifugal blower and the back support, and a thick engaging section is provided on at least one end of the stopper for being engaged with the engaging hole. When the stopper is inserted into the engaging hole and the one end of the stopper is pulled, the engaging section is engaged with the engaging hole. By further pulling the one end of the stopper, the engaging section is tightly buried into the engaging hole. Thus, the stopper can be reliably attached to the centrifugal blower or the back support.

  • Patent number: 8230828
Abstract: An engine blower includes a centrifugal blower having a volute case in which a fan is accommodated; an engine attached to the centrifugal blower for driving the fan; a carburetor mounted to the engine via an insulator; and a lead wire that establishes conduction between the engine and the carburetor. The electrical potential difference between the engine and the carburetor can be eliminated, which prevents electrostatic discharge between the engine and the carburetor even when static electricity is built up in a volute case or a ventilation tube. Accordingly, ignition timing can be prevented from shifting due to an influence on an electrical circuit by the discharge within an ignition unit.

Abstract: A two-cycle engine having a structure in which the shaft center Ccy of the cylinder 3 is offset onto the exhaust port 32 side with respect to the rotational center Ccr of the crankshaft 4, and the offset amount S of the shaft center Ccy with respect to the rotational center Ccr is set greater than 1 mm and less than 6 mm. Furthermore, in this case, the center of gravity of the counterweight 42 of the crankshaft 4 is shifted onto the rear side in the rotational direction with respect to the line passing the rotational center Ccr of the crankshaft 4 and the center Ccp of the crank pin 41.

  • Patent number: 8210134
Abstract: A chain saw includes a body in which an engine for driving a saw chain is laterally housed; a top handle provided above the body; and a muffler arranged below the engine, in which an exhaust outlet for discharging exhaust from the front side of the body to the outside opens forward from the front side of the body. Accordingly, not only the exhaust can be discharged forward from the front side of the body, but also the exhaust sound can be propagated forward so that less exhaust sound is heard by the operator, thereby improving the work environment.

  • Patent number: 8186326
Abstract: A two-cycle engine includes a crankshaft that has shafts on both sides and a crankcase that pivotally supports the shafts of the crankshaft through bearings. A collar is circumferentially provided on an outer ring of one of the bearings that supports one of the shafts on a side at which a low load is applied. The crankcase is provided with an inserting portion into which the one of the bearings is inserted. The inserting portion penetrates the crankcase while keeping a constant diameter. An engaging portion with which the collar is engaged from an inner side is provided in an inner portion of the inserting portion.

  • Patent number: 8176643
Abstract: According to a chain saw braking system, engagement between a front end portion of a belt and a main body by an engagement member is released at the time of application of an impact. When a front end portion is pulled by the spring force of a compression coil spring, an elongate hole for protrusion is engaged with a protrusion to restrict a rear end portion from being moved in the same direction as the front end portion. Thus, it is possible to strongly tighten a drum by the belt to thereby reliably stop the movement of a chain. With this arrangement, the chain can be prevented from being damaged when a chain saw is accidentally dropped onto the ground due to an impact applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 8146257
Abstract: A brush cutter is provided with fixing pieces projecting outward and opposing each other substantially at a middle position of a slit stretching between both ends of a clamp member. Accordingly, an outer pipe is clamped in the middle of an attachment housing and apart from an axial center of the outer pipe, so that a size of the attachment housing in an axial direction can be reduced and stress concentration on the outer pipe can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 8113155
Abstract: A two-cycle engine includes a starting fuel supply passage for supplying a starting fuel to a crankcase from a starting fuel reservoir, and a flow passage opening and closing unit provided in a midway portion of the starting fuel supply passage. The starting fuel supply passage is opened to be constantly in communication with the crankcase. Accordingly, simultaneously with the generation of a negative pressure within the crankcase when a piston starts to ascend from a bottom dead center, the starting fuel starts to be supplied to the crankcase. Since the starting fuel is supplied to the crankcase for a relatively long time as compared to a conventional engine, a sufficient amount of the fuel is supplied for starting and startability of the two-cycle engine is improved.

  • Patent number: 8104446
Abstract: Screw holes are provided on a contacting surface of an insulator so as to enable a carburetor to be mounted on the insulator at a plurality of positions rotated about an axial center of an intake hole. The insulator is mounted on a cylinder at a predetermined position while the carburetor is mounted on the insulator by inserting bolts for mounting the carburetor into the screw holes through through holes of the carburetor. Accordingly, the carburetor can be mounted at a plurality of positions rotated about the axial center of intake holes relative to an engine body. Thus, a protruding direction of a throttle lever from the carburetor, i.e., an operating direction of the throttle lever, can be changed.

  • Patent number: 8051846
Abstract: Through holes formed on an atomization pipe can prevent fuel adhering on inner walls of the through holes from escaping. In addition, when fuel adhering on an inner circumferential surface of the atomization pipe flows toward a downstream side, the fuel enters the through holes. Thus, the fuel can be confined therein. Furthermore, an absorbing member can absorb the fuel that has adhered to a downstream inner wall of the atomization pipe and flows toward the downstream side. Moreover, a periphery of the intake passage hole of a gasket protrudes from the inner wall, so that flow of the fuel that the absorbing member fails to absorb toward the downstream side can be blocked. Accordingly, a rapid increase in the amount of fuel flowing into the engine body can be reliably prevented. Therefore, fluctuation in the number of revolutions of the engine can be sufficiently restrained.
