Abstract: [Object] The present invention relates to a turmeric pigment composition. More specifically, the present invention provides a turmeric pigment composition in which aggregation and sedimentation of a turmeric pigment over time is effectively prevented even when a concentrated amount of turmeric pigment is incorporated in a solvent; the turmeric pigment composition also ensures a desirable color-developing property, and is capable of stably adding a deep color with a bright tone, which was never accomplished by a hitherto-known colorant.
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a synthesis engine having a controller, and a storage medium for storing instructions to be executed by the controller. The instructions, when executed by the controller, can cause the controller to retrieve collected information associated with a behavior of an individual, synthesize from the information a measure of a mood of the individual to interact with others, and transmit the measure to a system associated with the individual to manage requests between the individual and the entity. The measure of the mood of the individual can indicate an availability of the individual and a receptiveness of the individual to accept a request to interact with an entity. The measure can be described by a plurality of dimensions. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: A light extracting device includes a dual light generating unit and a first order Bragg grating unit. The dual light generating unit is for receiving an input optical signal and a control signal, and for generating from the input optical signal first and second optical signals that have a phase difference there between. The phase difference is associated with the control signal. The first order Bragg grating unit is for receiving the first and second optical signals from the dual light generating unit, and for causing optical interference to occur between the first and second optical signals within a predetermined wavelength range to result in first and second output optical signals.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of image analysis of a cardiac image of a human subject who has experienced a myocardial infarction. The method includes delineating an area of said image corresponding to scar tissue within myocardium, from the voxel data for said area, determining at least one value indicative of the likelihood of future cardiac arrhythmia, and optionally applying to said value a prediction matrix generated from the same value for other human subjects who have had a myocardial infarction and who have subsequently experienced cardiac arryhthmia.
Abstract: A system and method for presenting progressively downloaded media programs is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, obtaining an estimated length of a media program where the estimated length is based on a plurality of different reported lengths of the media program in reported media program information, presenting at a display device a portion of the media program while it is being delivered by a media delivery system via a progressive download, and enabling active trick play functions for the media program based on the estimated length of the media program until a true time index is generated using an index file at an end of the progressive download of the media program. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Abstract: Methods and systems obtain profile information from individuals using automation to select and provide the questions that are given to the individual. The answers the individuals provide to the questions can then be used to generate the profile information. Subsequent questions are selected and presented according to analysis of the previous answers. The exchange of the questions and answers occurs over a communications network and may take the form of emails, web page interfaces, wireless data messages, or verbal communication over a voiced call. The answers are analyzed to determine certain characteristics, such as the personality type, mood, and gender of the individual. The subsequent questions are selected based on the characteristics that are found from the answers to facilitate the information exchange between the automated system and the individual.

Abstract: Logic data is written in a memory having a first word line and a first bit line, with the memory including a first memory cell having a first ferroelectric transistor. The first ferroelectric transistor includes a layer of ferroelectric material and has a first conduction terminal coupled to the first bit line, and a control terminal coupled to the first word line. The logic data is written based on biasing the control terminal of the first ferroelectric transistor at a first biasing value, biasing the first conduction terminal of the first ferroelectric transistor at a second biasing value different from the first biasing value, and generating a stable variation of the state of polarization of the layer of ferroelectric material of the first ferroelectric transistor to write the logic data in the first memory cell.
Abstract: An apparatus for a vehicle. A charging module provides a charging function in a wired or wireless manner to charge up a portable electronic device. A transceiver module receives signals from the portable electronic device and transmits enhanced signals through an air interface. A signal repeating unit receives the signals and enhances the signals to generate the enhanced signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are disclosed for providing information related to virtual environments. One such method includes receiving user input identifying an event related to the virtual environment for which a notification is to be provided to a mobile wireless communication device. User input is also received identifying an output to be provided by the mobile wireless communication device in response to receipt of the notification. A determination is then made that the event related to the virtual environment has occurred. In response to determining that the event occurred, the mobile wireless communication device is provided with the notification, and the output identified by the user input is provided by the mobile wireless communication device.
