  • Patent number: 8232712
Abstract: To provide a small electron gun capable of keeping a high vacuum pressure used for an electron microscope and an electron-beam drawing apparatus. An electron gun constituted by a nonevaporative getter pump, a heater, a filament, and an electron-source positioning mechanism is provided with an opening for rough exhausting and its automatically opening/closing valve, and means for ionizing and decomposing an inert gas or a compound gas for the nonevaporative getter pump. It is possible to keep a high vacuum pressure of 10?10 Torr without requiring an ion pump by using a small electron gun having a height and a width of approximately 15 cm while emitting electrons from the electron gun.

  • Publication number: 20120191416
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a device for process for predicting gloss of a coating resulting from a wet layer of a low gloss coating composition, such as automotive OEM or refinish paint. The device includes measuring reflectance of the layer of the coating composition applied over a test substrate and then allowing the layer to dry and/or cure into a coating. Thereafter, its gloss is measured with a gloss meter. The device is repeated with varying amounts of one or flatting agents added to the composition and the reflectance vs. gloss is plotted on a graph and by using a curve fitting equation a gloss prediction curve is obtained. By measuring the reflectance of a wet layer of a target low gloss coating composition the gloss of a coating that would result from such a layer is then predicted by using the gloss prediction curve. The device is most useful during the manufacture of coating compositions, such as automotive OEM and refinishes paints.

Abstract: Methods, devices, and products are disclosed for recommending a social community. A “social community” may be any individual(s), clubs, and/or organizations that have expressed some affinity to terms or subject matter, such as a media identifier. The media identifier identifies some media that is scheduled for recording. A community database is queried for the media identifier, and the community database associates social communities to media identifiers. The social community associated with the media identifier is retrieved. The social community is then sent to a user.

  • Publication number: 20120188260
Abstract: A CMOS integrated circuit that comprises a graphics controller system that consists of a graphics engine and video memory together with some interface blocks, a PCMCIA host adapter, an infrared interface for generating video images on a LCD or CRT display unit, and a video stream interface for receiving video signals. Since the video memory is integrated on the same integrated circuit as the graphics controller, no package pins are required for the memory interface. The pins thus saved are used to provide access to an on-chip PCMCIA host adapter. The internal memory interface is 128 bits wide. Simultaneous performance improvement and power dissipation reduction is achieved because of the wide memory interface and the elimination of the large parasitic capacitances associated with a package pin connection.
