In another embodiment, a process for forming an electronic device includes placing a workpiece within a depositing chamber of a depositing apparatus, wherein the workpiece includes a substrate and an organic layer overlying the workpiece. The process includes generating a plasma within a plasma-generating chamber of the depositing apparatus, wherein the plasma is not in direct contact with the workpiece. The process also includes sending an ion beam from the plasma-generating chamber towards a target within the depositing chamber, wherein the target includes a material, and depositing a layer of the material over the organic layer.
Abstract: The contemplated invention relates to the field of synthesis of biologically active substances, namely to the synthesis of an acetate derivative of the main water-soluble ?-tocopherol metabolite known under the name of ?-CEHC, which is prepared by the acid-catalyzed reaction of condensation of trimethyl hydroquinone with linalool in boiling octane, using n-toluenesulfonic acid or (+)-camphor-10-sulfonic acid as the catalyst. The reaction is carried out for 3 hours at the trimethyl hydroquinone:linalool:catalyst mole ratio of 1:1:0.1. The forming product is acetylated with acetic anhydride in pyridine at room temperature for 0.5 hour, and then ozonized in acetone in the presence of Ba(OH)2, oxidized with Jones' reagent in acetone, and isolated on silica gel column chromatography. Said compound is an acetate derivative of the main ?-tocopherol metabolite—?-CEHC, for which high efficiency has been noted in treating disorders of the central nervous system.

Abstract: A solution grafting method for making polyolefin graft polymers by grafting a phenolic ester monomeric compound on olefinic polymers in the presence of a radical initiator in an organic solvent is described. The grafted polymers provide improved adhesion properties, particularly to metal and polyester substrates.
Abstract: A system (100) and method deliver audible caller identification information when standard Caller ID information can not be provided, even when a subscriber to the service has per line blocking. A service control point (106) detects the directory number to which a terminating attempt trigger is assigned and places this directory number in a parameter for transmission to a service switching point (102) using a forward_call message (206). The per line blocking function does not interfere with transmission of this parameter so that the called party's directory number can be passed for processing and call completion by the system.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method to manage data flow in a network. The method includes receiving a plurality of data flows, wherein each of the plurality of data flows includes a plurality of data packets. The method also includes determining a protocol associated with each of the plurality of data flows. The method also includes dropping at least one data packet from at least one data flow associated with a first protocol, wherein the at least one dropped data packet meets a first criterion associated with the first protocol. The method also includes dropping at least one additional data packet from a data flow associated with a second protocol, wherein the at least one additional data packet meets a second criterion associated with the second protocol.
Abstract: Service resource items (49) for use in call setup in a telephone system are held on servers (58) that are connected to a computer network which is logically distinct from the telephone system infrastructure; this computer network may, for example, make use of the Internet. Each service item (49) is locatable on the network at a corresponding URI and is associated with a particular telephone number. A mapping is provided between telephone numbers and the URIs of associated service resource items. When it is desired to access a service resource item (49) associated with a particular telephone number, this mapping is used to retrieve the corresponding URI (step 55) which is then used to access the desired service resource item (56, 57, 59).

Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining whether to transmit from a first unit to a second unit, where the transmission is one of a first type and a second type. In the method, a signal from the second unit is received at the first unit, and the strength of the signal as received at the first unit is measured. A determination is made of whether the transmission is of the first type or the second type, and a first threshold is selected if the transmission is of the first type, or else a second threshold is selected if the transmission is of the second type. The measured signal strength is then compared to the selected threshold, and the transmission proceeds only if the measured signal strength exceeds the selected threshold.
Abstract: This invention relates to isolated nucleic acid fragments encoding fructosyltransferases. More specifically, this invention relates to polynucleotides encoding 1-FFTs, 6-SFTs, or 1-SSTs. The invention also relates to the construction of a recombinant DNA constructs encoding all or a portion of the fructosyltransferases, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the recombinant DNA construct results in production of altered levels of the fructosyltransferases in a transformed host cell.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for determining routings of communications. Methods include receiving a communication for a receiving party and determining one or more potential locations of the receiving party. A probability that the receiving party is at each of the potential locations is calculated based on a statistical model. It is determined which of the potential locations has the highest probability. Routing of the communication to the potential location with the highest probability is initiated.
Abstract: Methods, systems, and key fob apparatuses for facilitating hands free mobile communications from within an automotive vehicle are provided. The apparatus includes a key fob with a housing and a SIM associated with the housing. The SIM is operative to identify a subscriber to a mobile telephone network when interfaced with the mobile telephone network. The apparatus may further include a key integrated with the key fob and operatively associated with the SIM. The key is operative to initiate the start of an engine of the automotive vehicle and interface the SIM with a mobile telephone, such as a GSM phone, integrated with the automotive vehicle. Thus, when the key is inserted into an ignition switch operatively associated with a SIM reader, the SIM identifies a subscriber to the mobile telephone network.
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a web server, comprising a controller to receive a request for authentication from a plurality of set-top boxes operating in an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system via a service enablement device; authenticate the plurality of set-top boxes using a remote authentication dial in user service (RADIUS); and enable service to the plurality of set-top boxes based on the authentication using the RADIUS. Other embodiments are disclosed.
