A touchscreen at the premises is coupled to the gateway and presents user interfaces. The user interfaces include a security interface that provides control of functions of the security system and access to data collected by the security system, and a network interface that provides access to network devices. A camera is located at the premises and coupled to the gateway via a plurality of interfaces. A security server at a remote location is coupled to the gateway. The security server comprises a client interface through which remote client devices exchange data with the gateway and the security system.

Detecting cessation of an always-on persistent network connection between the SMA controller and the server is also provided. Reporting the cessation of the network connection to an end user and defined others is further provided. A further aspect provides for automatically reporting an alarm event to a central station, the end user, and others, in the event the cessation of the network connection occurs while the SMA controller is armed and after a zone fault event, and not receiving a disarm notification prior to expiration of a preset entry delay.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for routing data in a network are described. A user device may send a request for video data that has been captured by a premises device. A computing device at the premises may receive the request and determine a capability of the user device. Based on the capability of the user device, the computing device may select a protocol from a plurality of protocols with which the video data is to be transmitted to the user device. Based on determining that the video data cannot be transmitted via the computing device, the video data may be transmitted from the premises device to the user device via the determined protocol.

A computing device, such as a server external to the premises, may receive data indicative of the premises device. The integrated security system integrates into the premise network and couples wirelessly with the conventional security panel, enabling broadband access to premise security systems. A method and system is provided for client polling a status server to see if there is new data, receiving a notification that there is new data, sending a client request to a server premises which retrieves the new data from a database and returns the new data to the client. Communication with the status server uses an unreliable packet or a reliable packet, whereas communication between the client and the server premises uses reliable transport. A redundant cluster of status servers and methods is provided.
