  • Patent number: 9829140
Abstract: A fluid pulse dampener with automatic pressure-compensation is provided. A system of chambers and channels in the dampener creates an internal feedback mechanism that increases or decreases a compensating pressure on the membrane in response to increases or decreases in the pressure of a fluid moving past the other side of the membrane. Variations of the pulse dampener allow for the input and/or output of gas flow to be restricted or increased as may be desired.

  • Patent number: 9700816
Abstract: An elongated fluid degassing apparatus may be employed as a fluid transfer line for fluidly connecting components in a liquid system, while at the same time degassing, or preventing re-gassing of, the fluid. The fluid transfer line degassing apparatus forms a shell and tube degassing arrangement, wherein shell-side fluid flow is facilitated by one or more spacer elements that centrally position a semi-permeable separation membrane in the shell chamber. The degasser may include one or more tubular separation membranes that provide a gas-permeable, liquid-impermeable contact surface to effect the gas-liquid separation of the process fluid.

  • Patent number: 9683975
Abstract: A multi-dimensional liquid analysis system includes a first dimension system and a second dimension system, wherein outflow from the first dimension system is separated at a flow splitter under controlled conditions. The flow splitter separates the first dimension outflow into first and second split outlet flows, with one of the split outlet flows being metered to a designated flow rate with a flow metering device disposed downstream from the flow splitter. The flow metering device selectively closes or opens an outlet flow path to define a volumetric flow rate along that outlet flow path, so that the other split outlet flow is correspondingly controlled.

  • Patent number: 9421545
Abstract: A springless rotary shear that produces compression forces by utilizing the stiffness properties of polymer seals. The valve is designed to produce an effective spring load, with inherent sealing force, by deflecting polymer elements whose response depends on stiffness that is governed by each component's elastic modulus and geometry. A stator seal protrudes thousandths of an inch beyond a stator seal housing. When a stator is fastened down to the stator seal housing the clamping forces are transmitted to the stator seal, rotor seal, shaft adapter, bearings and housings, and the assembly is deflected to a flush position, resulting in a sealing force between the rotor and stator seal. The transmitted sealing force is as a function of the stiffness of each component and the protrusion distance of the stator seal above the mating surface prior to fastening the stator.

  • Patent number: 9388930
Abstract: A tubing interface having an elongated tube, an elastomeric ferrule and a support ring device disposed around the ferrule. The ferrule includes a bore which is sized for receipt of the tube. The tubing interface further includes a cap member having an exterior surface, an opposed interior surface, and a tube receiving passage extending therethrough. The receiving passage is formed and dimensioned for axial sliding receipt of the tube member therethrough. The cap member further includes a cup-shaped receiving recess extending proximally from the interior surface, and is formed and dimensioned for axial receipt of the proximal end of the ferrule body member and the support ring. When the cap member is mounted to a valve apparatus, the support ring and the elastomeric ferrule device compressively cooperate with the cup-shaped recess to form a fluid-tight seal between the tube port and a communication port of the valve apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9370734
Abstract: A degassing module is adapted for degassing a liquidous fluid at relatively high throughput flow rates. The degassing module includes a tubular separation membrane that is helically wound within an interior chamber of a degassing module housing. The helically wound tubular separation membrane is disposed in an axial flow gap of predetermined proportions that maximizes fluid flow dynamics in reducing the gas transport resistance from the liquid phase across the membrane. Typically, the helically wound tubular separation membrane is positioned in the gap with radial spacings to surfaces bounding the gap, thereby forming axial flow channels circumaxially inwardly and/or outwardly of the wound tubular membrane.
