  • Patent number: 11909452
Abstract: An optical communication system includes an optical transmitter and one or more processors. The optical transmitter is configured to output an optical signal, and includes an average-power-limited optical amplifier, such as an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). The one or more processors are configured to receive optical signal data related to a received power for a communication link from a remote communication system and determine that the optical signal data is likely to fall below a minimum received power within a time interval. In response to the determination, the one or more processors are configured to determine a duty cycle of the optical transmitter based on a minimum on-cycle length and a predicted EDFA output power and operate the optical transmitter using the determined duty cycle to transmit an on-cycle power that is no less than the minimum required receiver power for error-free operation of the communication link.

  • Patent number: 11902858
Abstract: The technology enables locating asset tracking tags based on a ramped sequence of signals from one or more beacon tracking tags. The sequence includes at least one minimum power signal and at least one maximum power signal. Each signal in the sequence has a tag identifier and an initial signal strength value. Each beacon signal in the ramped sequence is associated with the time at which that beacon signal was received by a reader. Each beacon signal is also associated with a received signal strength at reception. A location of the beacon tracking tag is estimated according to the signals in the sequence based on the difference between the initial and received signal strengths. A position of the reader device is identified based on the beacon tag's location. An asset tracking tag location is identified based on the reader's location and packets received by the reader from the asset tag.

  • Patent number: 11896526
Abstract: A laser eye surgery system includes a computer which scans a focused laser beam in a trajectory over a reticle or target and determines beam quality via laser light reflected from the target. The target may have a grid pattern of lines, with the diameter of the focused laser beam determined based on a time interval for the scanned beam to move onto a line of the grid pattern. Methods for measuring beam quality in a laser eye surgery system provide a direct, quantitative quality measurement of the focused laser beam, and may be performed quickly and automatically. Using scanning mirror position information together with signals resulting from laser light reflected from the target, the laser eye surgery system may also be calibrated.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for modeling fabrication constraints of a fabrication process is described. The method includes receiving training data including pre-fabrication structures and post-fabrication, training a fabrication constraint model by optimizing parameters of the fabrication constraint model based on the training data to model the fabrication constraints of the fabrication process, receiving an input design corresponding to a physical device, and generating a fabricability metric of the input design via the fabrication constraint model. The fabricability metric is related to a probabilistic certainty that the input design is fabricable by the fabrication process determined by the fabrication constraint model.

  • Patent number: 11890231
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgical laser system includes a laser beam delivery system having multiple moving components for scanning a laser focal spot in a target eye tissue, where the motors that actuate some of the moving components are equipped with respective digital encoders that measure actual motor positions. A controller controls the laser beam delivery system to perform a treatment scan, while recording the actual motor positions from the encoders. Using the actual motor positions and a calibration relationship between actual motor positions and delivered laser focal spot positions in a target tissue, a laser cutting pattern is digitally reconstructed, which represents the incisions actually achieved by the treatment scan. The reconstructed laser cutting pattern may be visually inspected and further analyzed, e.g. to compare it to the intended laser cutting pattern used to execute the treatment scan, to calculate the achieved refractive correction, or to simulate tissue resetting.

  • Patent number: 11879315
Abstract: A device for controlling injection of treatment fluids in plunger lift systems includes a lubricator cap coupleable to a lubricator. The lubricator cap defines a fluid inlet coupleable to a fluid injection system. A sensor coupled to the lubricator cap detects arrival of a plunger within the lubricator a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor transmits an indicator corresponding to arrival of plunger to a fluid injection control system. In response, the fluid injection system injects fluid into the fluid inlet to recharge the plunger. In certain implementations, the sensor detects arrival of the plunger at the lubricator by detecting movement of a lubricator spring or a component of a lubricator spring, such as a spring follower.
