The generating the mask data includes: referring to the layout data to extract a parameter that specifies a layout pattern around a target transistor included in the semiconductor integrated circuit, wherein the parameter includes at least a width of a device isolation structure around the target transistor; correcting a gate length and a gate width of the target transistor to offset a variation of a characteristic of the target transistor from a design value, the variation depending on the extracted parameter; and generating the mask data from the layout data in which the gate length and the gate width are corrected.

    Abstract: Methods of measuring a mean-to-target (MTT) based on pattern area measurements are provided including providing a design pattern. A plurality of design pattern measurements are measured for calculating an area of the design pattern based on a shape of the design pattern. A series of calculation measurements are calculated by continuously substituting a same variation into the design pattern measurements, and calculating a series of calculation areas corresponding respectively to the calculation measurements to generate a database including the calculation measurements and the calculation areas. An actual pattern is formed using the design pattern and an area of the actual pattern is measured. A calculation area corresponding to the area of the actual pattern is selected from the database and calculation measurements corresponding to the calculation area are selected. A difference between the design pattern measurements and the calculation measurements is calculated and the difference is set as an MTT.

As a result, the light reflecting metal wall is stably formed by securing both (i) an area of an LED chip mounting surface and (ii) a thickness of the light reflecting metal wall even if a packaged light-emitting element has a narrow lateral width of its short side.

The present invention has a further advantage in that a reflective film is formed on inclined sidewalls of a device-forming thin film layer so that light loss through lateral sides of the device can be reduced, thereby improving optical properties.

    Abstract: A recording/reproducing apparatus and a tracking control method which can perform data processing for reliably recording or reproducing data on or from a recording medium are disclosed. Tracking error signal (TE) is generated using difference signal (A?B) produced from reflected light from a recording medium and an offset included in the difference signal is compensated for using another reflected light received separately from the reflected light. Offset-compensated tracking error signal ((A?B)?k(C?D)) is obtained by subtracting another difference signal (C?D) produced from the separately received reflected light according to gain (k) from difference signal (A?B). Different gains may be used for areas on the recording medium having different reflectances. Thus, the tracking error signal can be compensated for an optical offset caused by lens movement and an offset caused by different reflectances and light radiated to the recording medium can accurately follow its track to perform reliable data processing.
