    Abstract: A locking pin, in particular for the securing of shift positions of a shift linkage in automobile transmissions, comprises a hollow cylindrical shaft portion (1) which is drawn from thin-walled sheet metal and closed at one end by a bottom (2). This bottom (2) projects radially beyond the shaft portion (1). A locking element (3) projecting out of the shaft portion (1) at the open end thereof is guided longitudinally displaceable in the shaft portion (1), retained secure against loss und pre-tensioned in the locking direction by a spring (4). To obtain a locking pin which is cost-effective in manufacturing and easily dismountable, a diameter enlargement (7) serving as a stop is provided at a pre-determined distance both from the open end of the shaft portion (1) and from the bottom (2).

    Abstract: The present invention comprises a spacer, especially a spacer for use with a thrust roller bearing assembly. An internal radial lip projecting into the central aperture of the spacer provides for frictional retention on a shaft passing therethrough. Where the thrust bearing and spacer combination is to be installed in a bore, one or more external radial lips may be included to frictionally retain the spacer within the bore. The spacer element is adapted for coupling to one of the bearing elements. In one embodiment, the bearing and spacer may be bonded together. In another embodiment, the spacer and bearing are joined by mutually engageable circumferential locking surfaces. The spacer is selected from a plurality of spacers of differing axial dimension, each spacer being color coded according to its axial dimension.

    Abstract: In a tightening device for a drive belt in an internal combustion engine, particularly for a toothed belt in the camshaft gear with a tension roller supported on a pivoting lever comprising a tension spring acting upon the pivoting lever in the direction of tension and a blocking device opposing the motion of the pivoting lever, whose blocking element changes its position as a function of the temperature, the blocking element formed as an end stop by the free end (17) of a preferably plate shaped stop body (18) whose other end (19) is held in a fixed housing (1) wherein the end stop in the operating state of the internal combustion engine is disposed at a distance from the adjacent support face of the pivoting lever. The tightening device with the thermally adjustable end stop avoids a tooth jump, particularly in the case of long belts.

    Abstract: A method of manufactore of, and apparatus for, a torque converter assembly having an improved reactor assembly. A torque converter is disclosed having a stator which has improved and simplified casting and machining requirements. A stator hub is provided having a cylindrical bore substantially coaxial with the axis of the transmission shaft to which the torque converter is mounted. An overrunning clutch and thrust bearing cartridge assembly is provided to be fitted into the stator hub bore. The overrunning clutch provides improved lubrication on both sides of the clutch engaging element surfaces, either rollers or sprags, between the inner and outer rings which form the clutch races. Wear surfaces within the clutch assembly are stamped steel instead of aluminum. Clutch load is increased by increasing the roller or sprag dimensions in the direction of the stator axis, while maintaining the same stator hub width. Thrust bearings are mounted to the outside of the overrunning clutch.
