Abstract: In a method and a system for an Internet copy protection method, a source document markup file is partitioned into a plurality of subsets of text, one or more graphical representations of at least some of the plurality of subsets are created and those subsets of text in the source document are processed to create a transformed document, location information is also generated, which identifies a position in the transformed documents that is equivalent to the position of the textual content which corresponds to the graphical representation in the source document. The transformed document, graphical representations, and location information may then be transmitted over a network to a client device.

Abstract: A system and method of social interaction includes receiving interaction information for an interaction created by a first user of an electronic content work, the interaction information comprising an identification number of a portion of the electronic content work associated with the interaction. The system and method includes storing the received interaction information. The system and method also includes receiving a request from a second user requesting interaction information for a requested portion of the electronic content work. the system and method also includes sending the received interaction information in response to determining that the identification number associated with the received interaction information matches the identification in the request for interaction information.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a user of a first portable digital computing device creates an annotation associated with a particular reading location within a reference document. The annotation and the reading location are shared with a second portable digital computing device storing a copy of the reference document. Using the shared information, the second device displays the reference document with the annotation shown at the reading location.

Abstract: A system, computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for updating content are presented. A first version of content residing on a user device is determined, and a second version of content relating to the first version of content is determined. Version information for each file within a second set of files organized within a second archive of the second version of content is sequentially accessed based on a second order of the second set of files in the second archive, the version information indicating a version of each file. A determination is made of when version information indicating a newer version of content has been accessed from the second archive, and new content associated with the newer version is provided to the user device.

Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are systems, methods and machine readable media for the management of content creation. In some examples the system includes a content management component configured to store portions of an electronic content work and to implement version control of the electronic content work; a defect tracking component configured to store a defect record related to a stored portion of the electronic content work; a publication pipeline component configured to format the electronic content work for publication; and a integration component configured to present a graphical user interface which allows for editing the stored portions of the electronic content work, editing the defect record, and instructing the publication pipeline to format the electronic content work for publication.

Abstract: Disclosed in one example is a method for providing an interactive exhibit to a user. The method may include creating plotting instructions for an interactive exhibit based on an exhibit description and a value of a user adjustable visual element, the exhibit description comprising a mathematical function, and a description of a relationship between the user adjustable visual element and a parameter of the mathematical function. The method may also include causing the interactive exhibit to be displayed based on the plotting instructions, the interactive exhibit including the user adjustable visual element. In some examples, the method may also include determining that a user input corresponds to a change in the value of the user adjustable visual element and updating the displayed interactive exhibit based on the new value of the user adjustable visual element, the mathematical function and the relationship between the user adjustable visual element and the parameter of the mathematical function.
