  • Patent number: 11924426
Abstract: A video system that applies constraints on block partitioning is provided. The system receives a partitioning control parameter from a bitstream specifying a maximum block size for enabling ternary-tree split that is constrained to be 64 or smaller. The system receives data from a bitstream for a block of pixels to be decoded as a current block of a current picture of a video. The system splits the current block into one or more partitions recursively, wherein ternary split is disallowed for a partition of the current block unless the partition is less than or equal to the maximum block size. The system reconstructs the one or more partitions of the current block.

  • Patent number: 11924444
Abstract: Method and apparatus for constrained de-blocking filter are disclosed. One method receives input data related to a current block in a current picture at a video encoder side or a video bitstream corresponding to compressed data including the current block in the current picture at a video decoder side, and determines a first boundary associated with the current block, wherein the first boundary corresponds to one vertical boundary or one horizontal boundary of the current block. The method then applies de-blocking process to a reconstructed current block corresponding to the current block to result in a filtered-reconstructed current block, using a plurality of first reference samples at a same side of the first boundary, and replaces a first set of the first reference samples by one or more padding values. The method then generates a filtered decoded picture including the filtered-reconstructed current block.

  • Patent number: 11919080
Abstract: The successful fabrication of alloy foam (or porous alloy) is very rare, despite their potentially better properties and wider applicability than pure metallic foams. The processing of three-dimensional copper-nickel alloy foams is achieved through a strategic solid-solution alloying method based on oxide powder reduction or sintering processes, or both. Solid-solution alloy foams with five different compositions are successfully created, resulting in open-pore structures with varied porosity. The corrosion resistance of the synthesized copper-nickel alloy foams is superior to those of the pure copper and nickel foams.

  • Patent number: 11913707
Abstract: A cooler has a body and a lid that co-operate. The lid is movable between closed and open positions. The lid is a freezable reservoir. A filler port is located inside the lid. The entrance of the filler port into the lid is located at a height part way between the inside and outside walls of the lid. The lid has a downwardly extending hollow peripheral formation. The filler port is spanwise inset from the peripheral formation. The lid has spanwise extending internal formations that stiffen the lid and divide the internal chamber into sub-volumes connected by necks through which liquid can flow. The inside and outside walls of the lid may be connected. The lid is provided with a “fill to” line visible from the filling port to discourage over-filling. The lid may have an insulated cap, and the cooler may have an insulated jacket.

  • Patent number: 11917185
Abstract: A method and apparatus of Inter prediction for video coding using Multi-hypothesis (MH) are disclosed. If an MH mode is used for the current block: at least one MH candidate is derived using reduced reference data by adjusting at least one coding-control setting; an Inter candidate list is generated, where the Inter candidate list comprises said at least one MH candidate; and current motion information associated with the current block is encoded using the Inter candidate list at the video encoder side or the current motion information associated with the current block is decoded at the video decoder side using the Merge candidate list. The coding control setting may correspond to prediction direction setting, filter tap setting, block size of reference block to be fetched, reference picture setting or motion limitation setting.

  • Patent number: 11913092
Abstract: Morphology, microstructure, compressive behavior, and biocorrosive properties of magnesium or magnesium alloy foams allow for their use in biodegradable biomedical, metal-air battery electrode, hydrogen storage, and lightweight transportation applications. Magnesium or Mg alloy foams are usually very difficult to manufacture due to the strong oxidation layer around the metallic particles; however, in this invention, they can be synthesized via a camphene-based freeze-casting process with the addition of graphite powder using precisely controlled heat-treatment parameters. The average porosity ranges from 45 to 85 percent and the median pore diameter is about a few tens to hundreds of microns, which are suitable for bio and energy applications utilizing their enhanced surface area.

  • Patent number: 11913703
Abstract: A horizontal Dewar flask is used with an optical metrology device, which may advantageously reduce the vertical height of the device. A thermal transfer member provides thermal transfer between a liquefied gas cooled sensor and liquefied gas in a chamber of the Dewar flask. To compensate for the loss of thermal transfer from the sensor as the liquefied gas evaporates and changes to a gaseous state, the thermal transfer member biases heat transfer to the liquefied gas that is at the bottom of the chamber. The thermal transfer member may have a larger surface area at a bottom portion of the thermal transfer member than the upper portion. For example, the thermal transfer member may include one or more projections that extend into the liquefied gas with greater density at the bottom of the chamber than at the top of the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20240058420
Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition for treating cancer, containing, as active ingredients, a fusion protein including an IL-2 protein and a CD80 protein, and an anticancer agent. A fusion protein containing a CD80 fragment, an immunoglobulin Fc, and an IL-2 variant can activate immune cells such as natural killer cells, and at the same time, can control the immune cell regulatory activity of regulatory T cells. In addition, when an anticancer agent is administered in combination with the fusion protein, cancer can be effectively inhibited. Therefore, a pharmaceutical composition containing, as active ingredients, a fusion protein containing an IL-2 protein and a CD80 protein, and an anticancer agent can increase the immune activity in the body and can be effectively utilized not only for cancer but also for an infectious disease, and thus has high industrial potential.
