  • Publication number: 20140253699
Abstract: Recent production methods for 3D video as a general rule generate stereo images in a same phase of movement. The left and right images of a stereo pair thus image the recorded (or rendered) scene at a same point of time. Correct reproduction consequently requires the two images to be shown concurrently. This is, however, not true for all apparatuses such as, for example, 3D television sets including the so-called shutter technology, which show the left and right images in temporal succession. This temporally offset reproduction of the two stereo images results in clearly perceivable image errors. The invention describes a method for compensating such image errors. This is achieved by interpolating the images of one of the channels.

  • Publication number: 20140218489
Abstract: Some 3D video display apparatuses reproduce the two stereo channels in a temporally offset manner, which may bring about the occurrence of interfering image errors. Appropriate dispositions allow to compensate such image errors entirely or in part. In the reproduction of 3D video it is not definitely possible to recognize whether, and in what form, such dispositions are being employed in a display apparatus. The invention discloses a test signal generator and a test signal which allow to examine the error compensation dispositions being employed.

  • Publication number: 20130050436
Abstract: To allow for a larger selection of viewpoints for the viewer during the reproduction of 3D image contents, it is proposed to compute the two stereoscopic images from the image signals of recording cameras (101, 102, 103), which record images of an object (1) to be reproduced from different viewpoints of a monoscopic position. The stereoscopic images are computed with an image viewpoint, which correspond to the viewing angle of a hypothetical viewer (400) in the central axis of the monitor screen (304). A change of the actual viewing position with regard to the central axis is signalized to a processing unit (301), which computes the two stereoscopic images with image viewpoints changed accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20120237055
Abstract: In order to compensate tonal changes arising from a multi-path propagation of sound portions during the mixing of multi microphone audio recordings as far as possible it is suggested to form spectral values of respectively overlapping time frames of samples of each a first microphone signal (100) and a second microphone signal (101). The spectral values (300) of the first microphone signal (100) are distributed with formation of spectral values (311) of a first sum signal to the spectral values (301) of a second microphone signal (101) in a first summing level (310), whereat a dynamic correction of the spectral values (300, 301) of one of the two microphone signals (100, 101) occurs. Spectral values (399) of a result signal are formed out of the spectral values (311) of the first sum signal which are subject to an inverse Fourier-transformation and a block junction (FIG. 3).

  • Publication number: 20120151081
Abstract: In a peer-to-peer (P2P) system, in each individual transmitting peer (10), the incoming data stream is divided logically and with regard to time into different parts, which are buffered in a volatile memory (13) and are transmitted to the receiving peers (20, 30) on different paths by means of a peer-to-peer transmission mechanism (40). In a receiving peer (20), the received parts of the subdivided data stream are buffered in a volatile memory (21) and are reassembled into a complete data stream. Further, in the receiving peer (20), the parts of the subdivided data stream, buffered by the volatile memory (21), are copied into a persistent memory (22), from where they are copied back into the volatile memory (21) at a later point in time if necessary. In order to reduce the amount of data to be stored persistently, it is proposed that a fraction of the received data is excluded from persistent storing, wherein this exclusion is performed by selecting parts of the subdivided data stream.

Abstract: The aim of the invention is to indicate the availability of an update for an MHP application, which is modified only periodically, to the user of a set top box, whilst helping him or her to decide whether the modified update is actually required and optionally still maintaining the availability of the older update without restrictions. To achieve this, information concerning the scope and/or type of modification in relation to the older version is provided in the transmitted version number for the modified MHP application. The set top box starts the saved older version if special information exists (“launchable with older version” flag) and permits a comparison of the version number with the received version number of the modified MHP application as to whether the modifications of the modified MHP application are of such significance that the modified version must be received and saved in the cache memory.
