    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a membrane electrode assembly including: a polymer electrolyte membrane; an anode catalyst layer formed on one side of the polymer electrolyte membrane; a cathode catalyst layer formed on the other side of the polymer electrolyte membrane; and a porous carbon layer formed on the cathode catalyst layer on the side opposite to the side contacting with the polymer electrolyte membrane and comprising a polymer binder and a carbon particle, and a fuel cell including the same. The present disclosure can prevent water evaporation from an electrolyte under low-humidity environment while minimizing decrease in performance under high-humidity operating environment and can improve fuel cell performance by facilitating the back diffusion of water generated at the cathode.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a two-dimensional material detector with an asymmetrically integrated optical microstrip antenna, structurally including a metal reflecting surface, a dielectric spacer layer, a two-dimensional active material layer, a top source electrode, and a drain electrode integrated with a metal strip array. Self-driven photoresponse of a metal/two-dimensional material/metal structure is induced by a Schottky junction formed due to contact between the two-dimensional material and the metal. The asymmetrically integrated optical microstrip antennas break the symmetry between the two contact/two-dimensional material junctions. Light absorption in the contact/two-dimensional material junction integrated with optical patch antennas is significantly enhanced by efficient light in-coupling and intensified light localization; meanwhile, the extended boundary of the contact/two-dimensional material junction enlarges the photocurrent collection area.

    Abstract: Nitrogen vacancy (NV) centers in diamond combine exceptional sensitivity with nanoscale spatial resolution by optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR). Infrared (IR)-absorption-based readout of the NV singlet state transition can increase ODMR contrast and collection efficiency. Here, a resonant diamond metallodielectric metasurface amplifies IR absorption by concentrating the optical field near the diamond surface. This plasmonic quantum sensing metasurface (PQSM) supports plasmonic surface lattice resonances and balances field localization and sensing volume to optimize spin readout sensitivity. Combined electromagnetic and rate-equation modeling suggests a near-spin-projection-noise-limited sensitivity below 1 nT Hz?1/2 per m2 of sensing area using numbers for contemporary NV diamond samples and fabrication techniques.
