    Abstract: Riveted assemblies are provided that can include: a first component having opposing first and second sidewalls; a second component having opposing third and fourth sidewalls; and a rivet extending between a head along a shank to an end, the rivet piercing the first sidewall with the end of the rivet being between the first and fourth sidewalls, wherein the end of the rivet is deformed and interlocks the first and second components. Methods for affixing at least two components using a rivet are provided that can include: providing a first component having opposing first and second sidewalls; providing a second component having opposing third and fourth sidewalls; providing a rivet extending between a head along a shank to an end; and projecting the rivet through at least the third sidewall of the second component to deform and form an affixing interface to interlock the first and second components.

    Abstract: An alkaline negative electrolyte and alkaline zinc-iron flow battery assembled by same are provided. The alkaline negative electrolyte includes zinc ions, a complexing agent, and alkali; the complexing agent is at least one selected from the group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, ethylene glycol diethyl ether diamine tetraacetic acid, cyclohexane tetraacetic acid, and ethylenediamine tetrapropionic acid; a molar ratio of the zinc ions to the complexing agent is 1:1; and a molar ratio of the complexing agent to the alkali is 1:(3-4). The zinc ions in the negative electrolyte are in form of a complex state, which is used as the negative electrolyte to assemble and obtain the alkaline zinc-iron flow battery, solves the problem of electrolyte migration in alkaline zinc-iron flow battery and improves the cycling stability of the battery; moreover, it improves the low-temperature performance of the battery, and broadens the operating temperature range of alkaline zinc-iron flow battery.

    Abstract: A nano spintronic device for using the spin current of a ferromagnetic material and the spin current of a heavy metal channel. The device includes a lower channel layer, a free layer, a pinned layer, an insulating film layer, and an upper channel layer. When current flows upon application of power, electrons are divided into +y-polarized spins and ?y-polarized spins in the lower channel layer, thereby generating torque in the free layer. The torque switches the magnetization direction of the free layer to an +y-axis direction or an ?y-axis direction so that the free layer stores magnetization information according to the magnetization direction. When current flows in the upper channel layer, the current flows into the pinned layer so that electrons in the pinned layer are divided into +y-polarized spins and ?y-polarized spins. The insulating layer insulates the free layer and the pinned layer from each other.

    Abstract: A magnetofluid enhanced electromagnetic heating device and method for preventing and treating secondary hydrates around a well are provided. When exploiting natural gas hydrates by depressurization, secondary hydrates or ice can form due to the decreasing temperature around the well, so that gas migration in sediment is blocked, and the gas production is reduced. According to this disclosure, a coil is arranged outside a casing pipe to generate an alternating electromagnetic field radiated to sediment. As a result, magnetite nanoparticles naturally contained in the sediment generate magnetothermal effect to heat the sediment. Additionally, the magnetofluid containing the ferromagnetic nanoparticles can be injected together with fracturing fluid during hydraulic fracturing of the reservoir, so that the magnetothermal effect of the sediment is further enhanced. Thus, secondary hydrates or ice can be prevented from forming around the well so that the exploitation efficiency of natural gas hydrates is improved.

The nonlinear optical crystal prepared has a large size, a wide light transmission band and good mechanical properties.
