Abstract: Novel hexon isolated from simian adenovirus serotype 19 encoded in the polynucleotide defined as SEQ ID NO: 3, hepervariable region thereof, chimeric adenovirus comprising the same, and therapeutic use thereof provides a solution to the problem of safety and effective systemic treatment for developing gene therapeutic agents using adenovirus.
Abstract: Disclosed is a negative electrode material for a lithium secondary battery, using a layer structure of porous graphene and metal oxide nanoparticles, with remarkably fast charge/discharge characteristics and long cycle life characteristics, wherein macropores of the porous graphene and a short diffusion distance of the metal oxide nanoparticles enable rapid migration and diffusion of lithium ions. The present invention may achieve remarkably fast charge/discharge behaviors and exceedingly excellent cycle life characteristics of 10,000 cycles or more even under a current density of 30,000 mA·g?1. Accordingly, the structure of the present invention may implement very rapid charge/discharge characteristics and stable cycle life characteristics while having high capacity by combining the structure with negative electrode nanostructures of the porous graphene network structure, and thereby being widely used in a variety of applications.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising a repressor of mitofusin gene expression, an inhibitor of mitofusin protein activity, or a mixture thereof as an active ingredient for promoting reprogramming a differentiated cell into a pluripotent stem cell, and a use thereof. The composition according to the present invention increases the efficiency of reprogramming as well as reduces the time required for reprogramming to produce pluripotent stem cells. Therefore, the present composition can be beneficially used to develop the production technology of high efficiency pluripotent stem cell and secure a large-scale culture system. Further, the present composition can be beneficially used to maintain pluripotent stem cells and screen the compounds capable of promoting the reprogramming into pluripotent stem cells.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus for generating a multi-channel array light source based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). More specifically, the apparatus has a structure in which an optical multiplexer and distributed feedback laser diode (DFB-LD) array modules are coupled. The optical multiplexer is configured with a plurality of input port columns spatially spaced apart from each other, so that high-speed electrical signal lines, matching resistors, and DFB-LDs are integrated with each input port column. Accordingly, although a conventional apparatus is used as it is, the number of channels can be increased by two or three times without any large modification of the size of an optical device, and thus it is possible to achieve low-price, large-capacity communication. Based on this, it is possible to implement a low-priced 400-Gbps optical transceiver.

Abstract: The invention includes a method for predicting the operational state of equipment with turbulent flow characterized by time series data relating to its operation. The invention further includes a system and method for predicting the onset of an impending oscillatory instability. Further, the invention includes a system and method for identifying an impending absorbing transition such as flame blowout in combustion systems. A variable representing the dynamics of operation is measured with the help of a sensor, to obtain time series data. A complex network is then derived from the measured time series data. Network properties are then calculated using the complex network to identify the state of stability relating to operation of the equipment. The stability information may include one of thermoacoustic instability, aero-elastic instability such as flutter, flow-induced vibration, magneto-hydrodynamic, aerodynamic, aeromechanical, aero-acoustic instability or onset of flame blowout of a combustor.
Abstract: The present invention relates to polyethylene glycol (PEG) modified protein drugs, and a PEGylated tissue kallikrein, a preparation method and use thereof are disclosed. The tissue kallikrein has a sequence as shown in SEQ ID No. 1 or SEQ ID No. 2, and the tissue kallikrein may be natural or recombinant. The PEG has a molecular weight of 20 to 40 kDa, and is conjugated to the N-terminal primary amino of the tissue kallikrein. In addition to the advantages of significantly extended half-life, significantly reduced immunogenicity and stable and uniform structure, the biological activity of the PEGylated KLK1 provided in the present invention is improved to a higher extent, which is more significant in the treatment of cerebral apoplexy and diabetic nephropathy in particular.

Also provided are a method for preparing the electrocatalyst and an anion exchange membrane water electrolyzer using the same. The nickel electrocatalyst coated with an ultralow loading amount of platinum for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis shows excellent hydrogen evolution activity and has a small thickness of catalyst, thereby providing high mass transfer and high catalyst availability.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a security keypad are provided. The apparatus for providing a security keypad includes a coordinate generation unit, a keypad output unit, and a key value processing unit. The coordinate generation unit computes a displacement by which a security keypad is to be shifted, and rearranges at least some of keys included in the security keypad by shifting the at least some keys so that the central axis of the security keypad is translated by the displacement. The keypad output unit displays the rearranged security keypad to a user.
