Abstract: The present invention relates to an activin receptor type II B (ACVR2B) inhibitor which comprises the delta-like 1 homolog (DLK1) extracellular water-soluble domain. More specifically, the present invention relates to an extracellular soluble domain of DLK1; fragments of the extracellular soluble domain of DLK1; mutants of the extracellular soluble domain of DLK1; a composition for suppressing ligand linkage with the ACVR2B receptor, which includes a fragment of the mutants as an active ingredient; and a pharmaceutical composition for prevention and treatment of diseases which comprises the same. The composition of the present invention competitively binds to the ACVR2B receptor and inhibits the binding of an ACVR2B ligand to the ACVR2B receptor, which inhibits protein signalling associated with such ligands, and will be useful for prevention and treatment of diseases associated therewith.

Abstract: A fast heat transfer device is provided. The device dissipates heat and generates power at the same time. A liquid flow is used to absorb heat for forming a vapor gas flow; then, the gas flow drives a blade turbine and a power generator; and, finally, the gas flow is cooled down to become the original liquid flow for recycling. Thus, the present invention dissipates heat and generates power simultaneously with a minimized size and a reduced cost together with energy conservation.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for remotely deleting critical information is provided. The apparatus includes a storage unit, an identity determination unit, and a broadcast unit. The storage unit stores an input value and an output value for the input value with respect to a physically unclonable function (PUF) of each of a plurality of mobile terminals. The identity determination unit determines the identity of a corresponding mobile terminal based on received information about the loss of the mobile terminal. The broadcast unit extracts the input and output values of the PUF of the corresponding mobile terminal from the storage unit based on information transferred from the identity determination unit, and broadcasts the extracted input and output values to all the mobile terminals.

Abstract: In a coincidence determination of a PET device, the PET device uses a scintillator of radioactive isotope containing background noise due to intrinsic radioactivity as a radiation detector. The PET device counts a pair of annihilation radiations that is assumed to occur from a same nuclide. The annihilation radiations are detected within a predetermined coincidence time window by a plurality of radiation detectors. The method includes determining a coincidence with a wide energy window that allows detecting the background noise due to intrinsic radioactivity as multiple coincidences; removing the multiple coincidences; and using an energy window narrower than the wide energy window to limit a coincidence event to a coincidence event in a photopeak from a positron nuclide only.

Abstract: A method of forming a nanometer-scale prominence and depression structure on a zinc oxide thin film in a wet-etching method, and the method includes the steps of: preparing a substrate; forming a nano structure having a height and a width of a nanometer range; forming the zinc oxide thin film on the substrate on which the nano structure is formed; and wet-etching the zinc oxide thin film, in which in the wet-etching step, zinc oxide having relatively low physical compactness is preferentially etched since the zinc oxide is positioned on the nano structure, and thus the prominence and depression structure is formed around the nano structure by the etching. The method is effective in that a thin film can be uniformly formed on the prominence and depression structure, and an electrolyte or an organic material may uniformly penetrate between the prominence and depression structure.
