Abstract: The present invention relates to an image sensor comprising a microlens array, and to a manufacturing method thereof. The method of the present invention includes gradually increasing the aluminum composition ratio of a compound semiconductor as the latter gradually gets farther from a substrate, to enable a microlens-forming layer to grow, and making the oxidation rate of the region adjacent to the substrate slower and the oxidation rate of the region farther from the substrate faster, making the interface between the oxidized region and the unoxidized region into a lens shape after the completion of oxidation. The thus-made lens is integrated into an image sensor. The present invention reduces costs for manufacturing image sensors in which a microlens is integrated, increases the signal-to-noise ratio and resolution of the image sensor, and achieves improved sensitivity.

Abstract: Technologies are presented for power optimization of datacenter networks in a hierarchical perspective. In some examples, a two-level power optimization model may be established to reduce the power consumption of datacenter networks by switching off network switches and links while still guaranteeing full connectivity and maximum link utilization. The model may be implemented by solving a capacitated constraint multi-commodity flow (CMCF) problem employing simple heuristic techniques. A power status of network switches may be determined according to a network traffic matrix and the CMCF optimization determined at core-level and at pod-level. A complementary process to provision whole network connectivity and to meet quality of service (QoS) goals may also be performed.

Abstract: A nanostructured anode of solid oxide fuel cell with high stability and high efficiency and a method for manufacturing the same are revealed. This anode comprising a porous permeable metal substrate, a diffusion barrier layer and a nano-composite film is formed by atmospheric plasma spray. The nano-composite film includes a plurality of metal nanoparticles, a plurality of metal oxide nanoparticles, and a plurality of gas pores that are connected to form nano gas channels. The metal nanoparticles are connected to form a 3-dimensional network that conducts electrons, while the metal oxide nanoparticles are connected to form a 3-dimensional network that conducts oxygen ions. The network formed by metal oxide nanoparticles has certain strength to separate metal nanoparticles and prevent aggregation or agglomeration of the metal nanoparticles. Thus this anode can be applied to a solid oxide fuel cell operating in the intermediate temperatures (600˜800° C.) with high stability and high efficiency.

Abstract: An inclined PET device is provided in which the cut plane of a detector ring upon which a plurality of PET detectors are disposed is inclined so that it does not intersect perpendicularly with the long axis of a bed that carries a subject to be examined and in which an open space that passes through the bed in a direction perpendicular to the long axis thereof is formed, in order to enable access to the subject to be examined. The PET detectors are disposed and stacked in a direction parallel to the long axis of the bed. Thereby, the number of PET detectors is reduced and device cost is reduced, while the detector ring as well as the device can be miniaturized. At the same time, the open space that passes through the bed in a direction perpendicular to the long axis can be preserved.

Abstract: Methods and a computer program product for deriving temperature information with respect to surfaces within a scene that is imaged radiometrically. A time sequence of radiometric data is acquired in frames viewed from distinct angles. A three-dimensional structure of the scene is derived, allowing viewing angles and distances to the imaged surfaces to be inferred. Normalized surface areas of the imaged surfaces are calculated based on the inferred viewing angles and emissivities of the imaged surfaces are corrected accordingly. Corrections also account for background radiation impinging on the imaged surfaces. The radiometric data are converted to a perceptible temperature map of the imaged surfaces.
