Abstract: A system and method are detailed for aluminizing surfaces of metallic substrates, parts, and components with a protective alumina layer in-situ. Aluminum (Al) foil sandwiched between the metallic components and a refractory material when heated in an oxidizing gas under a compression load at a selected temperature forms the protective alumina coating on the surface of the metallic components. The alumina coating minimizes evaporation of volatile metals from the metallic substrates, parts, and components in assembled devices during operation at high temperature that can degrade performance.

Abstract: A method of group based machine type communications (MTC) and apparatuses using the same are proposed to minimize unexpected network response by the way of group based MTC function translations and adjustments. According to the method and the apparatus performing the method, grouping and re-grouping in both in the network level and the application server level could be performed to minimize functional discrepancies among required functions for a MTC service, functions supported by a network, and functions available for MTC UEs. Functional discrepancies after the initial grouping may be solved by performing functional adjustment and translation. By using this group based method and apparatuses, not only control signal overheads are saved but the likelihood of network congestion or overload due to error signals could be lowered.

Abstract: A concentrator solar receiver with an improved homogenizer is revealed. A homogenizer used in a concentrator solar module is improved. Instead of a smooth flat surface, a bottom surface of the homogenizer can be a positively curved surface, a conic solid, or a truncated tapered structure. Moreover, the bottom surface can be a rough surface. Thus not only the glue-overflow problem occurred during adhesion of the homogenizer to the solar cell can be solved, but also the possibility of air bubbles remaining between the glue and the homogenizer is reduced. Therefore the yield rate of a concentrator solar module is improved and the service life of the concentrator solar module is prolonged.
