Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and an apparatus of satellite positioning, the apparatus comprising a receiver module, a phase-difference measurement module, an angle-of-arrival calculation module, and a positioning module. The receiver module receives at a locale a first and a second signal from a satellite. The phase-difference measurement module measures the frequency of a phase difference of the signals along a geographic direction. The angle-of-arrival calculation module calculates the cosine of an angle of arrival of the signals for the geographic direction based on the frequency of the phase difference, the frequency difference of the signals, and a travelling speed of the satellite along that geographic direction. The positioning module calculates the coordinate of the locale along the geographic direction in the three-dimensional space based on that of the satellite, a distance between the satellite and the locale, and the cosine of the angle of arrival.

  • Patent number: 9075941
Abstract: The presently claimed invention provides a method for optimizing an electrodeposition process of a plurality of vias in a wafer. Instead of simulating a large number of via on the wafer for via filling, a representative via is selected with the maximum value of critical factor, which is a function of process parameters. The filling of the representative via is simulated with different sampling points to find out the filling goodness in order to find out the optimized process windows of process parameters. An optimizer is also disclosed, which either provides sampling points or reduces sampling points under artificial neural network method. Calculation of filling goodness is used for evaluating via filling quality and further comparing among via fillings simulated at different sampling points. Consequently, the method of present invention is able to shorten the simulation time for via filling as well as provide a process window with high accuracy.

  • Patent number: 9073759
Abstract: Silica aerogels with improved properties are disclosed together with methods for synthesizing such aerogels. The improved properties include lower thermal conductivity (better insulating capacity), lower acoustic velocity, lower dielectric constant and improved ductility. Greater tunability of the refractive index can also be achieved. The silica aerogels are prepared by a sol-gel processing method that provides better control of the formation of aerogel structures. Generally speaking, the improvements arise from control of the synthesis to create a morphology of primary clusters and diverse-sized secondary clusters of dense silica aerogels separated by less densely packed regions. By providing a broader range of secondary clusters and/or pore sizes and loose connectivity between clusters, reductions can be achieved in thermal conductivity and flexural modulus.
