Abstract: The present invention relates to a linear flow regulating apparatus for intravenous infusion, and more particularly, to a flow regulating apparatus which is used in an infusion set for intravenous infusion to regulate the flow rate of a solution injected into a body. To eliminate the difficulties caused by the nonlinearity of conventional flow regulating apparatuses, which regulate flow rates by pressing a solution flow tube to adjust the flow passage area, the linear flow regulating apparatus has a control unit to be put in or taken out along the width of a flow channel unit through which the solution flows when the height and length of the flow channel unit are fixed, and is capable of linearly regulating the flow rate by varying the flow passage area of the flow channel unit by adjusting the width of a flow channel unit.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described providing for the use of ultrasound energy to effect the dislodging of one or more blood clots inside blood vessels. Such clots can include those inside retinal vessels, especially in patients with central retinal vein occlusion. Embodiments of the present disclosure may be used for any retinal arterial or venous occlusion. In exemplary embodiments, a small probe can be inserted into the eye of a patient and placed over the retinal vessels. Acoustic streaming created by the probe can be directed to an area or region including targeted blood vessels, resulting in increased flow in one or more retinal veins and facilitating or effecting mechanical dislodging of one or more blood clots in the targets blood vessels. Exemplary embodiments can utilize ultrasonic energy produced at a frequency of approximately 44 MHz to 46 MHz with pulse repetition frequencies of approximately 100 Hz to 100 kHz.

Abstract: In exemplary implementations of this invention, a light field camera uses a light field dictionary to reconstruct a 4D light field from a single photograph. The light field includes both angular and spatial information and has a spatial resolution equal to the spatial resolution of the imaging sensor. Light from a scene passes through a coded spatial light modulator (SLM) before reaching an imaging sensor. Computer processors reconstruct a light field. This reconstruction includes computing a sparse or compressible coefficient vector using a light field dictionary matrix. Each column vector of the dictionary matrix is a light field atom. These light field atoms each, respectively, comprise information about a small 4D region of a light field. Reconstruction quality may be improved by using an SLM that is as orthogonal as possible to the dictionary.
