Abstract: An illumination device includes a base, a flexible circuit board disposed on the base, and a plurality of illumination units. The flexible circuit board has a plurality of first branches and at least one second branch which are connected together. Each of the first branches has a radius of curvature, and the radii of curvature of the first branches are different from or identical to one another, so that the first branches are assembled to form a curved surface. The second branch extends from one of the first branches. After the first branches are assembled, the second branch is overlapped with another first branch. The illumination units are packaged onto the first branches of the flexible circuit board. Here, the illumination units located on one of the first branches is electrically connected to the illumination units located on another of the first branches through the second branch.

  • Patent number: 8809295
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising an inhibitor of the expression or activity of SH3 domain containing ring finger 2 (SH3RF2) for preventing or treating cancers. More specifically, since the SH3RF2 protein, of which the expression level increases in various cancer tissues, binds to PAK4, which is a cancer-associated gene, to regulate an apoptosis inhibitory function of the PAK4 protein by ubiquitination activity of SH3RF2 RING domain, cancer cells, in which the expression of SH3RF2 is inhibited, sensitively respond to the induction of apoptosis to promote apoptosis and reduce in vivo tumorigenicity, such that the inhibitor of the expression or activity of SHRF2 can be useful as a composition for preventing or treating cancers.

  • Publication number: 20140226128
Abstract: In exemplary implementations, this invention comprises apparatus for retinal self-imaging. Visual stimuli help the user self-align his eye with a camera. Bi-ocular coupling induces the test eye to rotate into different positions. As the test eye rotates, a video is captured of different areas of the retina. Computational photography methods process this video into a mosaiced image of a large area of the retina. An LED is pressed against the skin near the eye, to provide indirect, diffuse illumination of the retina. The camera has a wide field of view, and can image part of the retina even when the eye is off-axis (when the eye's pupillary axis and camera's optical axis are not aligned). Alternately, the retina is illuminated directly through the pupil, and different parts of a large lens are used to image different parts of the retina. Alternately, a plenoptic camera is used for retinal imaging.
