Abstract: A system and method include breaking symmetry in a query graph by converting the query graph into a transformed query graph by generating a symmetry breaking expression that includes detecting one or more orbits in the transformed query graph, selecting an orbit from the one or more orbits having more than one node, generating an automorphism breaking sub-expression for the selected orbit, assigning a node of the selected orbit a unique node attribute, recalculating the one or more orbits in the transformed query graph, repeating the process until each node is in its own orbit, and combining each of the automorphism breaking sub-expressions to obtain the symmetry breaking expression. Using the symmetry breaking expression, the system and method include finding one or more subgraphs of a main graph that match the symmetry breaking expression of the query graph.

Abstract: Fermions are the building blocks of matter. Here, we disclose a robust quantum register composed of hundreds of fermionic atom pairs trapped in an optical lattice. With each fermion pair forming a spin-singlet, the qubit is realized as a set of near-degenerate, symmetry-protected two-particle wavefunctions describing common and relative motion. Degeneracy is lifted by the atomic recoil energy, which depends on mass and lattice wavelength, thereby rendering two-fermion motional qubits insensitive to noise of the confining potential. The quantum coherence can last longer than ten seconds. Universal control is provided by modulating interactions between the atoms. Via state-dependent, coherent conversion of free atom pairs into tightly bound molecules, we tune the speed of motional entanglement over three orders of magnitude, yielding 104 Ramsey oscillations within the coherence time.

Abstract: The invention discloses a catalyst coated membrane and preparation method thereof, membrane electrode and fuel cell. The above preparation method includes: firstly, adding sodium type resin to an aqueous-alcohol dispersion of Pt/C catalyst, and stirring and dispersing to obtain a catalyst slurry; secondly, coating the catalyst slurry onto a PTFE membrane, drying at room temperature, and then transferring to an sintering box for heat treatment to obtain a catalyst coated PTFE membrane; thirdly, preparing a proton membrane with catalyst transfer layer by thermocompression transfer of the catalyst coated PTFE membrane and a proton exchange membrane; finally, protonating the proton membrane with catalyst transfer layer to obtain a catalyst coated membrane. The present invention utilizes the great thermal stability of sodium type resin to enhance the crystallization degree of Nafion-H in the catalyst coated membrane through heat treatment, thereby improving the resistance to free radical oxidation and corrosion.

Abstract: Embodiments of the microwave amplification system are described. In an embodiment, a microwave amplification system includes a microwave amplifier that contains a paramagnetic material with an impurity. The impurity has a plurality of nuclear spin and electron spin-based energy levels. The system includes an input to receive a pumping signal which is transmitted to the microwave amplifier to cause a population inversion in the impurity and excite it to one of the nuclear spin and electron spin-based energy levels. The system further includes another input to receive an input signal to be amplified by the microwave amplifier, the input signal having a lower power than the pumping signal. Once transmitted to the microwave amplifier, the input signal is amplified by the excited state of the impurity in the microwave amplifier thereby generating an amplified signal.

Abstract: A photonic parallel network can be used to sample combinatorially hard distributions of Ising problems. The photonic parallel network, also called a photonic processor, finds the ground state of a general Ising problem and can probe critical behaviors of universality classes and their critical exponents. In addition to the attractive features of photonic networks—passivity, parallelization, high-speed and low-power—the photonic processor exploits dynamic noise that occurs during the detection process to find ground states more efficiently.

Abstract: A base station in a wireless communication system is disclosed. Each base station in the wireless communication comprises: a communication module; and a processor. When the processor attempts to transmit a synchronization signal and PBCH block (SSB) at a SSB transmission candidate position in a discovery reference signal (DRS) transmission window, and fails to transmit an SSB at a first SSB transmission candidate location in a first DRS transmission window, the processor is configured to attempt to transmit the SSB at a second SSB transmission candidate position that is later than the first SSB transmission candidate position in the first DRS transmission window. The DRS transmission window is a time interval in which the base station can transmit the SSB. The SSB transmission candidate position indicates a time point at which the base station can start SSB transmission within the DRS transmission window.
