  • Patent number: 11459939
Abstract: Methods and systems for reducing the temperature of the charge air provided to a turbocharged internal combustion engine. A supercharger is installed on the air intake path, upstream the turbocharger's compressor. A secondary charge air cooler is installed between the supercharger and the main compressor. This over-compresses the intake air, so that an expansion turbine installed downstream the turbocharger's compressor can cool the charge air and still provide sufficient charge air pressure into the intake manifold.

  • Patent number: 11460519
Abstract: Provided is a method for designing a magnetic gradiometer based on the combined influence of multiple influencing parameters. The method takes into consideration of synergetic interaction of the influencing parameters on the performance of a magnetic gradiometer. It analyzes detection errors within the entire zone of all possible directions and attitudes of a magnetic target under the influence of various influencing parameters, uses the detection accuracy and detection success rate to measure the performance of the magnetic gradiometer accurately and objectively, and finally obtains the influence rule of the influencing parameters on the performance of the magnetic gradiometer. Based on the knowledge of the combined influence of multiple influencing parameters, the magnetic gradiometer can be designed to have high detection accuracy and success rate and high cost-efficiency.

  • Patent number: 11460581
Abstract: In one embodiment, a system for removing LiDAR points is provided. An image is received from a camera and a plurality of points is received from a LiDAR sensor. The points are placed on the image based on coordinates associated with each point. The image is divided into a plurality of cells by placing a grid over the image. For each cell, a threshold is calculated based on the minimum distance between the points in the cell and the camera. The threshold may control how many points are allowed to remain in each cell. After calculating the thresholds, points are removed from each cell until the number of points in each cell do not exceed the threshold for the cell. The image and/or the reduced plurality of points are then used to provide one or more vehicle functions.
