  • Patent number: 8456282
Abstract: An adaptive wakeup methodology may be implemented to allow an radio frequency identification (RFID) tag to stay synchronized with periodic radio frequency (RF) interrogator polling signal while at the same time optimizing power consumption. A receiver (or transceiver) component of a RFID tag may only be operated when an interrogator polling signal is expected, and in a manner that reduces the amount of time between when the receiver or transceiver is turned on and when the interrogator polling signal is received (i.e., the receive buffer time). At other times, the RFID tag may be placed in a low power consumption sleep state. The amount of time that the RFID tag spends in such a low power sleep state before waking and receiving the following interrogator polling signal may also be optionally adjusted, e.g., to fit characteristics of a given situation and/or to re-synchronize a given aRFID tag with first band transmissions from an aRFIDI.

  • Publication number: 20130135432
Abstract: A device for outputting a chrominance signal and a method thereof are disclosed. The device includes a motion detection unit, a frame edge detection unit, and an output unit. The motion detection unit judges a motion degree of a frame. The frame edge detection unit judges whether a non-3D luminance signal is extracted from an edge of the frame. The output unit outputs one of a 3D chrominance signal and a non-3D chrominance signal as a resultant chrominance signal according to the motion degree which is judged by the motion detection unit and the judgment result of the frame edge detection unit. The present invention is capable of appropriately selecting the 3D chrominance signal and the non-3D chrominance signal when the frame is in the motion condition.

  • Patent number: 8437427
Abstract: This invention describes a programmable, digital implementation to shift an arbitrary frequency, or various frequencies in various communication systems of the original signal in the frequency domain. The correspondent phase accumulation to perform the desired frequency shift per sampling instant is perfectly tracked by counting up or down a simple integer. Several arbitrary frequency shifters with different mathematical models are provided. The correspondent implementations with Look-Up-Tables (LUT) are derived for high-speed implementations without further calculations of the values of the sine and cosine functions every sampling instant. Furthermore, a simple shift-and-add phase rotation is described to replace the four required real multiplications. If the original complex signal contains only one-bit each from real part and imaginary part, a surprisingly simple implementation is derived and disclosed for the overall arbitrary frequency shift operation.

  • Publication number: 20130106711
Abstract: A hierarchical sensing method for a touch panel is disclosed. The touch panel has a matrix of points for detecting a touch or touches. The method includes dividing the points into a plurality of blocks; selecting several points in each one of the blocks as designated points; sensing first data from each one of the designated points; determining a set of possible touched points according to the first data sensed from each one of the designated points; sensing second data from the set of possible touched points; and determining if each one of the possible touched points is an actual touched point according to the second data sensed from said one possible touched point. By using the present invention method, a faster sensing speed and a greater sensing accuracy can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 8411207
Abstract: A device for outputting a luminance signal and a method thereof are disclosed. The device includes an image smoothing unit, a band pass filter unit, and a summing unit. The image smoothing unit receives a 2D luminance signal and decreases a signal intensity of a component of the 2D luminance signal within a frequency range with respect to a carrier frequency of a chrominance component. The band pass filter unit passes the component of the 2D luminance signal within the frequency range with respect to the carrier frequency. The summing unit sums the output of the image smoothing unit and the output of the band pass filter unit to generate a resultant luminance signal. The present invention is capable of avoiding the occurrence of saw-tooth or sparkling situation caused by inharmonious switching between a 1D comb filter and a 2D comb filter.

  • Patent number: 8386551
Abstract: A dynamic filtering device includes a variation detector, a coefficient generator and a filter. The cut-off frequency of the filter is dynamically adjusted according to variations of an input signal. A higher signal-to-noise ratio is obtained when a finger moves in slow motion and its response time is reduced when the finger moves in fast motion, therefore improving the response time and the noise immunity of the filter.
