  • Publication number: 20190050558
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to system, method and apparatus to compartmentalize information in a program so as to protect against malware. In one embodiment, the disclosed provides a compiler that is enhanced to automatically define multiple compartments within a program based on the data sets that they access. The disclosed embodiments may be implemented at a compiler and certain embodiments may be referred to as compartmentalizing compiler. For each data set, an exemplary compartmentalizing compiler separates program elements that need direct access to the data set from those that do not and it defines a boundary around the data set and the program elements that need to access it. In certain embodiments, other portions of the program may still need to invoke the compartment. Thus, the disclosure also generates interface routines to copy data back and forth through the compartment boundary.

  • Publication number: 20190049781
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to quantum dot LCD display systems and methods that use a digital optics polarizer to beneficially and advantageously provide enhanced performance and substantially lower power draw. The digital optics polarizer is disposed as a metasurface between the LCD layer and the quantum dot layer within the LCD display device. The digital optics polarizer is formed using a dielectric material, such as TiO2, that does not cause reflectivity and ohmic loss issues typically encountered with wire grid polarizers. The digital optics polarizer may be patterned, deposited, or otherwise disposed across all or a portion of the LCD layer, the quantum dot layer, or may be “sandwiched” between and proximate the LCD layer and the quantum dot layer. The elimination of ohmic losses in the digital optics polarizer significantly improves the energy efficiency of the LCD display.

  • Publication number: 20190049514
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for carrying out ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) testing on whole wafers populated with one or more buried magnetic layers. The techniques can be used to verify or troubleshoot processes for forming the buried magnetic layers, without requiring the wafer to be broken. The techniques can also be used to distinguish one magnetic layer from others in the same stack, based on a unique frequency response of that layer. One example methodology includes moving a wafer proximate to a waveguide (within 500 microns, but without shorting), energizing a DC magnetic field near the target measurement point, applying an RF input signal through the waveguide, collecting resonance spectra of the frequency response of the waveguide, and decomposing the resonance spectra into magnetic properties of the target layer. One or both of the DC magnetic field and RF input signal can be swept to generate a robust set of resonance spectra.

  • Patent number: 10203884
Abstract: A disclosed example to use an erase-suspend feature with a memory device includes sending, by a memory host controller, an erase-suspend enable setting and an erase segment duration value to the memory device. The erase-suspend enable setting is to cause the memory device to perform an erase operation as a plurality of erase segments and to suspend the erase operation between the erase segments. The erase segment duration value is to specify a length of time for the erase segments. The memory host controller initiates an erase operation to be performed at the memory device. When the erase operation is suspended, the memory host controller initiates a second memory operation to be performed at the memory device. After the memory host controller determines that the second memory operation is complete, the memory host controller initiates resumption of the erase operation.
