Abstract: With the proliferation of Machine-Type Communication (MTC), an excessive use of device trigger messages in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network can have negative effects on user equipment (UE). These effect can include a shortening of UE battery life and/or excessive signalling caused by the frequent changing from an idle mode to an active mode. An MTC Interworking Function (MTC-IWF) can be configured to determine the status of a UE to which a device trigger message is intended. If the device trigger message is low priority and the UE is in an idle state, the MTC-IWF or Mobile Management Entity (MME)/Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN)/Mobile Switching Center (MSC) can buffer the device trigger message.

Abstract: A method performed by a processor is described. The method includes executing an instruction. The instruction has an address as an operand. The executing of the instruction includes sending a signal to cache coherence protocol logic of the processor. In response to the signal, the cache coherence protocol logic issues a request for ownership of a cache line at the address. The cache line is not in a cache of the processor. The request for ownership also indicates that the cache line is not to be sent to the processor.

Abstract: Methods and systems may provide for determining a status of a mobile platform, wherein the status indicates whether the mobile platform is stationary, and adapting a detection schedule of one or more location sensors on the mobile platform based at least in part on whether the mobile platform is stationary. Additionally, one or more location updates may be generated based at least in part on information from the one or more location sensors. In one example, a location request is received, wherein the detection schedule is adapted further based on quality of service (QoS) information associated with the location request, and wherein the one or more location updates are generated in response to the location request.

Abstract: Phone calls may be tagged with the importance or the context of the call to be displayed along with the caller ID information on the display of a receiving phone. The context information is thus made available even before the call is answered to aid the user in determining whether or not to answer the call or how long thereafter it would be appropriate to wait before the call is returned.

Abstract: A method and system for efficient processing of encoded data streams communicated through a wireless network are disclosed. A system may include a receiver component, an iterator component, and a return component. The receiver component receives an encoded message including a plurality of objects. The message may be encoded according to a protocol. The iterator component traverses, without decoding the encoded message, the plurality of objects within the encoded message to locate a selected object of the plurality of objects. The selected object is selected by a client application. The return component returns data associated with the selected object to the client application.
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods, systems, and apparatuses for multicast broadcast multimedia service (MBMS)-assisted content distribution in a wireless communication network. A proxy terminal may include an MBMS access client configured to receive and cache an MBMS transmission including media data and metadata. The proxy terminal may further include a hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) server module configured to transmit at least a portion of the media data to a user equipment (UE) of the wireless communication network via an HTTP transmission. The media data and metadata may be in a dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP (DASH) format. The proxy terminal may be included in an evolved Node B (eNB), the UE, or another UE of the wireless communication network.
Abstract: Context-adaptive variable length bitstream decoding performance may be improved and power consumption reduced by pushing the variable length decoding beyond one syntax element per clock pulse.

Abstract: Embodiments of methods, systems, and storage medium associated with providing, with a user device, multiple content items for display by multiple receiving devices via multicast transmissions are disclosed herein. In one instance, the method may include forming a multicast data unit with multiple portions of data. Each portion of data may correspond to one of multiple content items to be transmitted to multiple receiving devices by the computing device and each content item is to be displayed by one of the multiple receiving devices. The method may further include transmitting the formed multicast data unit to the multiple receiving devices; and initiating, at each receiving device of the multiple receiving devices, a retrieval from the multicast data unit a portion of data that corresponds to a content item to be displayed by the receiving device, and to display the content item. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract: A non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM) is used in a computer system to perform multiple roles in the platform storage hierarchy. The NVRAM is byte-rewritable and byte-erasable by the processor. The NVRAM is coupled to the processor to be directly accessed by the processor without going through an I/O subsystem. The NVRAM stores a Basic Input and Output System (BIOS). During a Pre-Extensible Firmware Interface (PEI) phase of the boot process, the cache within the processor can be used in a write-back mode for execution of the BIOS.
Abstract: This invention relates to inductive inertial sensors employing a magnetic drive and/or sense architecture. In embodiments, translational gyroscopes utilize a conductive coil made to vibrate in a first dimension as a function of a time varying current driven through the coil in the presence of a magnetic field. Sense coils register an inductance that varies as a function of an angular velocity in a second dimension. In embodiments, the vibrating coil causes first and second mutual inductances in the sense coils to deviate from each other as a function of the angular velocity. In embodiments, self-inductances associated with a pair of meandering coils vary as a function of an angular velocity in a second dimension. In embodiments, package build-up layers are utilized to fabricate the inductive inertial sensors, enabling package-level integrated inertial sensing advantageous in small form factor computing platforms, such as mobile devices.
