The method may include consolidating the formed mat in a continuous cold press including three pairs of opposing top and bottom heating platens. A first pair of cooling platens has a first cooling power. A second pair of cooling platens has a second, lower cooling power. A third pair of cooling platens and has a third, even lower cooling power.

Abstract: An apparatus for severing a conduit in the borehole includes a combustible fuel; a nozzle section comprising a cavity with apertures providing passages from the cavity to outside the apparatus; a movable swirl generator located between the combustible fuel and the nozzle section, the swirl generator comprising a piston and a plurality of helical vanes, the piston located initially above the apertures; and an activation device for igniting the combustible fuel for creating a matrix of combustion products that pass between and/or along the helical vanes and move the swirl generator in the cavity so that the piston is moved below the apertures for passage of the matrix of combustion products into the cavity and out of the apertures. The helical vanes rotate the matrix of combustion products and direct the rotating matrix of combustion products radially through of the apertures for cutting the conduit.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing customer resource telemetry and use as a service. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive, from a user, a request to access at least one network-accessible resource associated with a customer of a service provider, the user being unassociated and unrelated with the customer; might identify at least one of a user identification, a company, or a class of user associated with the user; might determine whether at least one resource record associated with the customer indicates that the user has permission to access the at least one network-accessible resource, based on the identification. If so, the computing system might provide the user with access to the at least one network-accessible resource associated with the customer. If not, the computing system might deny, to the user, access to the at least one network-accessible resource associated with the customer.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system and method for providing dynamic remediation of a pluggable streaming device issue, such as a customer premises equipment (CPE) device. Sometimes, various features of the CPE device to begin to fail. For example, synchronization of the audio and video streams may drift, media rental purchases may time out, or playback may throttle to low quality. Such failures can be caused by device or network issues. The present disclosure describes a CPE remediation system that operates to identify a failure associated with playing media streamed by the CPE device. The CPE remediation system may further determine a solution to remediate an observed CPE device-related failure. In some examples, the CPE remediation process may further provide or perform one or more actions included in the determined solution. In some examples, the solution may include a warm or a cold reboot.

Abstract: A wireless testing system is provided that testing transmission speeds associated with a WLAN or other wireless network. In one instance, a network transmission between a device in a telecommunications network and a modem be measured and initiated via an application executed on a mobile device. One or more Wi-Fi speed tests may also be performed to determine a transmission speed between a wireless device associated with the premises and the modem of the WLAN. To conduct the Wi-Fi speed test, a mobile device (such as the mobile device executing the application) may transmit, in some instances in response to an input to the mobile device, an instruction to the test controller to conduct the Wi-Fi speed test. The measured transmission speeds may be controlled by a controller that may store the speed test results in a network repository available to the mobile device.

Abstract: An edge computing telecommunications network is provided for efficiently generating and updating computing models for use at distributed devices connected to different edge compute sites of the network. A network orchestration system may track devices connected to the network and the edge compute sites to which they are connected. The devices may comprise limited computing power and may include sensors or other data collection mechanisms. Raw data may be provided from connected devices to one or more edge compute sites. Edge compute sites may be instructed, e.g., by the network orchestration system, whether to replicate the raw data, modify the data to make it ready for consumption by a computing model, replicate the modified data, refine the computing model, replicate the refined computing model, and/or share some or all of the raw data, modified data, and/or refined computing model with other edge computing sites and/or connected devices.

Abstract: Systems and methods for securely and remotely storing data in a remote, distributed redundant array of independent drives (RAID) is provided. RAID storage is accomplished through a series of mapped drives, non-routable Internet protocol (IP) addresses, and routable IP addresses. In addition, authorization to access a RAID controller, network address translation (NAT) system, and domain name system (DNS) system may all be separated, increasing security and allowing storage to be securely distributed among a variety of dispersed storage locations.

Abstract: A downhole torch system and method of use includes a cylindrical housing, a protective material provided on at least one of the cylindrical housing and the fuel load, and a fuel load located within the cylindrical housing. The protective material is provided between the fuel load and the cylindrical housing to protect the cylindrical housing from adverse effects caused by the reaction of the burning fuel and/or the subsequent production of combustion products for cutting and/or perforating processes during operation of the torch system. The protective material significantly improves the cutting and/or perforating performance of the torch system.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for remotely configuring and orchestrating multifunctional cloud devices located on customer premises, in some cases, using a smart cloud adaptive device. In some embodiments, the smart cloud adaptive device, which might have one or more wireless programmable radios configured to communicate with a network termination device, might communicate with a cloud configuration server over a network via the one or more wireless programmable radios (and, in some embodiments, through the network termination device). The smart cloud adaptive device might transmit device identification information associated with a customer and/or service codes indicative of services to be provided to the customer. The smart cloud adaptive device might receive one or more configuration files from the cloud configuration server based on the service codes, and enable functionality among a plurality of functionalities to provision the services, based on the one or more configuration files.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system and method that can be used to define a standardized interface through which Internet of Things (IoT) device notifications from one or more IoT devices can be received and served to one or more network-connected television device displays based on configuration information. For instance, an IoT device notification, such as an informational notification, warning, video stream, or other information output by one of various types of IoT devices may be served to and displayed as a Picture-in-Picture on the network-connected television device display. The configuration information may cause an IoT device notification to be displayed on one or more network-connected television device displays when availability of the network-connected television device display is known, when availability of the network-connected television device display in association with a particular user is known, or according to another determined delivery action.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes providing a system and method for providing remote servicing of a customer device over a secure short-range wireless communication network connection. The customer device may be configured to securely establish a secure short-range wireless network communication connection between the customer device and a mobile device associated with an authorized user. When the mobile device is communicatively coupled with a customer device, the user may be enabled to access various installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and/or settings changing services on the customer device via the secure short-range wireless communication channel.

Abstract: Systems and methods for configuring and using a Wi-Fi-based motion detection system are provided. Devices connected to a wireless local area network (WLAN) may be configured to provide channel state information regarding radio frequency signals transceived by the devices. The channel state information may be received and used, e.g., by a wireless routing device, to detect motion within an WLAN environment. Detected motion, or the lack thereof, may be considered a Wi-Fi-based motion detection event, and various home-automation and/or security actions may be defined (e.g., through a user interface) to be caused by a determination that a Wi-Fi-based motion detection event has occurred. Among other uses, motion detection information may also be made available to third-party systems (such as emergency services systems), which may permit active querying of Wi-Fi-based motion detection systems to enable first responders to find occupants more quickly in case of an emergency.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing network experience shifting, and, in particular embodiments, using either a roaming or portable hypervisor associated with a user or a local hypervisor unassociated with the user. In some embodiments, a network node in a first network might receive, via a first network access device in a second network, a request from a user device to establish roaming network access, and might authenticate a user associated with the user device, the user being unassociated with the first network access device. Based on a determination that the user is authorized to access data, content, profiles, and/or software applications that are accessible via a second network access device, the network node might establish a secure private connection through a hypervisor or container communicatively coupled to the first network access device to provide the user with access to her data, content, profiles, and/or software applications.

Abstract: In large networks, configuration changes made to the network may have effects the extent of which is not easily foreseen before the configuration change is implemented. For example, the deployment of a new filter to the routers of a network may have the effect of disconnecting a larger portion of the network than was expected, and the recognition and correcting of such unintended effects may occur after a sufficient delay that users of the network may be inconvenienced. As such, a system and method for predicting outcomes of network configuration changes are provided.

Abstract: Customer premises equipment, such as a gateway device, for making a connection to an Internet service provider (ISP) may on occasion be defective or improperly set up, and in such circumstances remote troubleshooting by a technician employed by the Internet service provider may be hampered by the absence of a connection to the customer premises equipment. As such, a system and method for providing a secondary link to customer premises equipment are provided.

Abstract: In a network in which connections are made, between devices or between network segments, through security devices such as firewalls, a user attempting to contact a destination device may be prevented from doing so by some or all of the security devices, which may silently block packets, sent by the user, addressed to the destination device. The remedying of this inability to contact the destination device may be made more difficult by a lack of knowledge, on the part of the user, regarding which security devices are configured to block the packets. As such, a system and method for managing network access are provided.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing intelligence enabled things (“IET”). In various embodiments, a first IET tag affixed to a first object among a plurality of objects might receive information regarding the first object and/or nearby objects. The first IET tag might determine a status of the first object and/or the nearby objects based at least partly on the received information and based at least partly on first data assigned to the first IET tag. The first IET tag might analyze the determined status to determine whether the determined status exceeds predetermined thresholds for normal parameters for the first object and/or the nearby objects. Based on a determination that the determined status exceeds predetermined thresholds for normal parameters for the first object and/or the nearby objects, the first IET tag might autonomously self-report to a computing system a state of the first object and/or the nearby objects.

Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing off-chain functionality for data contained in blocks of blockchain. In various embodiments, a computing system might assemble data extracted from each block of a first block(s) of a first instance of a blockchain in a generated first file(s), the assembled data being organized to mirror how the data is organized and stored in the first block(s); might store, in a secure database, the first file(s), the first file(s) being configured to be content-searchable, content-sortable, and/or content-filterable; might generate a second instance of the blockchain, which contains one or more second blocks, the one or more second blocks each containing the hash value of each corresponding first block(s), without containing the data contained in each block of the first block(s); and might store, in a distributed peer data storage system of the blockchain system, the generated second instance of the blockchain.

Abstract: In a distributed replicated storage system, an active server may, during normal operation, service requests from clients, and back up its persistent storage to a backup server. The backup server may be configured to become an active server autonomously if the active server fails. If a network connection between the active server and the backup server fails, severing the connection between the active server and the backup server, the backup server may become a second active server and begin to service requests from clients, and the original active server may continue to service requests from clients. This may result in inconsistencies in the persistent storage of the original active server and of the second active server. As such, a system and method for intelligent merging of primary and backup data in a distributed replicated storage system are provided.
