Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable media for generating a pronunciation model. The method includes identifying a generic model of speech composed of phonemes, identifying a family of interchangeable phonemic alternatives for a phoneme in the generic model of speech, labeling the family of interchangeable phonemic alternatives as referring to the same phoneme, and generating a pronunciation model which substitutes each family for each respective phoneme. In one aspect, the generic model of speech is a vocal tract length normalized acoustic model. Interchangeable phonemic alternatives can represent a same phoneme for different dialectal classes. An interchangeable phonemic alternative can include a string of phonemes.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for a system and method for encoding sub-audible codes within a signal. One exemplary embodiment includes a method that includes receiving a first digital code and a second digital code; receiving a first block and a second block of a signal; embedding an echo of the first block of the signal in the second block of the signal to create a first modified second block of the signal in accordance with the first digital code; modulating the power of the first modified second block of the signal to create a second modified second block of the signal in accordance with the second digital code; and sending a modified signal including the second modified second block of the signal.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a communication from a party at a voice response system and capturing speech spoken by the party during the communication. Then a processor creates a voice model of the party, the voice model being created by processing the speech, without notifying the party. The voice model is then stored to provide voice verification during a subsequent communication.
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, computer-implemented methods, and computer-readable media for recognizing speech. The method includes receiving speech from a user, perceiving at least one speech dialect in the received speech, selecting at least one grammar from a plurality of optimized dialect grammars based on at least one score associated with the perceived speech dialect and the perceived at least one speech dialect, and recognizing the received speech with the selected at least one grammar. Selecting at least one grammar can be further based on a user profile. Multiple grammars can be blended. Predefined parameters can include pronunciation differences, vocabulary, and sentence structure. Optimized dialect grammars can be domain specific. The method can further include recognizing initial received speech with a generic grammar until an optimized dialect grammar is selected. Selecting at least one grammar from a plurality of optimized dialect grammars can be based on a certainty threshold.

Abstract: A method and system for efficiently executing a delegate of a program by a processor coupled to an external memory. A payload including state data or command data is bound with a program delegate. The payload is mapped with the delegate via the payload identifier. The payload is pushed to a repository buffer in the external memory. The payload is flushed by reading the payload identifier and loading the payload from the repository buffer. The delegate is executed using the loaded payload.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for associating a player identifier with a stored value account. The stored value account can holds funds that are accessible through the player's use of a stored value payment vehicle. Information associated with transactions using the stored value payment vehicle can be used for player relationship purposes.

Abstract: A method for scheduling tasks from a program executed by a multi-processor core system is disclosed. The method includes a scheduler that groups a plurality of tasks, each having an assigned priority, by priority in a task group. The task group is assembled with other task groups having identical priorities in a task group queue. A hierarchy of task group queues is established based on priority levels of the assigned tasks. Task groups are assigned to one of a plurality of worker threads based on the hierarchy of task group queues. Each of the worker threads is associated with a processor in the multi-processor system. The tasks of the task groups are executed via the worker threads according to the order in the hierarchy.
Abstract: Systems and methods for poker gameplay funding are disclosed through the crediting gaming accounts and the debiting of a stored value account. The stored value account can be linked to a stored value payment vehicle issued to a player. Funds held by the stored value account can be used for tournament poker play and cash game buy-in in virtual poker rooms and brick-and-mortar poker rooms. At the conclusion of gameplay, the gaming account can be debited and the stored value account credit to reflect poker winnings.

Abstract: An interactive response system mixes HSR subsystems with ASR subsystems to facilitate overall capability of voice user interfaces. The system permits imperfect ASR subsystems to nonetheless relieve burden on HSR subsystems. An ASR proxy is used to implement an IVR system, and the proxy dynamically determines how many ASR and HSR subsystems are to perform recognition for any particular utterance, based on factors such as confidence thresholds of the ASRs and availability of human resources for HSRs.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for approximating responses to a user speech query in voice-enabled search based on metadata that include demographic features of the speaker. A system practicing the method recognizes received speech from a speaker to generate recognized speech, identifies metadata about the speaker from the received speech, and feeds the recognized speech and the metadata to a question-answering engine. Identifying the metadata about the speaker is based on voice characteristics of the received speech. The demographic features can include age, gender, socio-economic group, nationality, and/or region. The metadata identified about the speaker from the received speech can be combined with or override self-reported speaker demographic information.

Abstract: A method for simulating a game of baseball via a computer network is playable by opposing managers running game application logic at remote computers communicating with an event outcome server. The server executes steps for receiving selected pitcher data and a pitcher control value from a first remote computer, and receiving, for an engagement with the selected pitcher data, selected batter data from a second remote computer. The server optionally modifies the pitcher control value according to the batter data, and generates a first random number for comparison to the pitcher control value. Based on the comparison, the server selects a set of probabilities representing possible outcomes of the engagement, where one selectable set favors the pitcher and another selectable set favors the batter.

Abstract: A request from a party is received by a receiver from a remote system. The request from the party is received when the party attempts to obtain a service using the remote system. A selective determination is made to request, over a network, authentication of the party by a remote biometric system. A request is sent to the remote system for the party to provide a biometric sample responsive to determining to request authentication of the party. The service is provided contingent upon authentication of the party by the remote biometric system.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods for presenting speech from a selected text that is on a computing device. This method includes presenting text on a touch-sensitive display and having that text size within a threshold level so that the computing device can accurately determine the intent of the user when the user touches the touch screen. Once the user touch has been received, the computing device identifies and interprets the portion of text that is to be selected, and subsequently presents the text audibly to the user.

Abstract: A method and system for a command processor for efficient processing of a program multi-processor core system with a CPU and GPU. The multi-core system includes a general purpose CPU executing commands in a CPU programming language and a graphic processing unit (GPU) executing commands in a GPU programming language. A command processor is coupled to the CPU and CPU. The command processor sequences jobs from a program for processing by the CPU or the GPU. The command processor creates commands from the jobs in a state free command format. The command processor generates a sequence of commands for execution by either the CPU or the GPU in the command format. A compiler running a meta language converts program data for the commands into a first format readable by the CPU programming language and a second format readable by the GPU programming language.
