Patent number: 9560607Abstract: A method and apparatus for radio link synchronization and power control in CELL_FACH state and idle mode are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) transmits a random access channel (RACH) preamble and receives an acquisition indicator acknowledging the RACH preamble via an acquisition indicator channel (AICH) and an index to an enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) resource. The WTRU determines a start of an E-DCH frame. An F-DPCH timing offset is defined with respect to one of the RACH access slot and an AICH access slot carrying the acquisition indicator. A relative F-DPCH timing offset may be signaled to the WTRU and the WTRU may determine a start of an E-DCH frame based on the relative F-DPCH timing offset and timing of an AICH access slot including the acquisition indicator. The WTRU may transmit a dedicated physical control channel (DPCCH) power control preamble before starting an E-DCH transmission.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2016Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Benoit Pelletier, Paul Marinier, Christopher R. Patent number: 9560147Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for performing Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) operation. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) registers an IMS service priority with an IMS network. The IMS service priority indicates the WTRU's priority in receiving IMS services. The WTRU may receive an IMS service from the IMS network based on the WTRU's IMS service priority. The IMS service priority may be indicated using a priority value and the WTRU may use Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) messaging to signal with the IMS network. The WTRU may register the service priority value using a q-value parameter in an SIP Contact field header. The WTRU may also register a public user identity with the IMS network and the public user identity may be shared with other IMS-capable WTRUs.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2015Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Kamel M Shaheen, Milan Patel

Patent number: 9554270Abstract: A method and apparatus for secure direct link communication between multiple wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) are disclosed. The WTRUs may exchange nonces that are used for generating a common nonce. Group identification information may be generated from at least the common nonce and is forwarded to an authentication server. The authentication server may generate a master key from the group identification information to match WTRUs as part of a key agreement group. The common nonce may be a session key and be refreshed during communication with the second WTRU. A group key encryption key (GKEK) and a group key confirmation key (GKCK) may also be generated based on the common nonce and used to encrypt and sign the master key so that base stations do not have access to the master key. A first WTRU may generate a group direct link temporal key (GDLTK) for communicating with the second WTRU.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 2014Date of Patent: January 24, 2017Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Alexander Reznik, Yogendra C. Patent number: 9548802Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receives a downlink transmission from an eNodeB including a plurality of spatial layers transmitted to a plurality of WTRUs paired for multi-user MIMO. The WTRU decodes the downlink transmission based on a corresponding WTRU-specific reference signal. WTRU-specific reference signals are multiplexed using a frequency and code division multiplexing. WTRU-specific reference signals for different sub-group of antenna ports are multiplexed onto different subcarriers in a frequency domain and the WTRU-specific reference signals of the same sub-group of antennas ports are multiplied by an orthogonal cover code. The resource elements used for the WTRU-specific reference signals on antenna ports in one sub-group may be muted on antenna ports in another sub-group. A WTRU may transmit the uplink demodulation reference signal without precoding.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2012Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Shahrokh Nayeb Nazar, Moon-il Lee, Robert L. Publication number: 20170013517Abstract: A method and apparatus for serving high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) cell change are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) sends a measurement report to a radio network controller (RNC) when a signal strength of a target cell approaches a signal strength of a source cell. The RNC adds the target cell in an active set and sends pre-loaded HS-DSCH configuration information for the target cell to the WTRU. The WTRU sends another measurement report when a signal strength of the target cell exceeds that of the source cell. The WTRU monitors a high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH) on the target cell based on the pre-loaded HS-DSCH configuration information and decodes an HS-SCCH transmission. The WTRU determines whether a MAC-hs/ehs reset is required and if so resets a MAC-hs/ehs entity prior to receiving an HS-DSCH transmission from the target cell.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2016Publication date: January 12, 2017Applicant: InterDigital Patent Holdings, Inc.Inventors: Diana Pani, Paul Marinier, Christopher R.
